Yeah, i'm only annoyed at losing to their "fans", not their team, who should never lose on their own soil IMO, they have such strength in depth.
The crowd for the most part were fine. They got behind their team. Nothing wrong with that. Obviously there was a minority who were dickheads but overall I had no issues with the crowd.
Clarke ****ed up with his picks. Willett, Fitzpatrick,Sullivan,Kaymer and Westwood weren't good enough. All young apart from Westwood, so hopefully can improve.
I'm not sure, Westwood and Kaymer were bad but Pieters was immense. Even if we had made 2 other picks than them I still think the US had us beaten. You can't do anything about the rest as they're automatic picks based on rankings. But as you say, they're young so they'll learn.
No I don't think he was at the time either, just had a very poor showing this weekend which was very uncharacteristic of him. I really thought Westwood could have one last hurrah but he never dealt the killer blow by sinking putts and putting pressure on anyone.
I wouldn't say he ****ed up with his picks, out of those you listed he only picked Westwood and Kaymer, his other pick was Pieters who got the most ever points by a european rookie. IMO he had to pick Kaymer and Westwood as we already had a load of rookies and to pick more would have been a massive gamble.
USA were better than us over the whole match, that much was clear. Westwood being the only pick I thought was dodgy. Though nobody expected Pieters to do so well so it evens out I guess.
Kaymer and Westwood played so poorly, but Pieters was great. So two bad choices out of 3 is a **** up.
Its not a **** up, they didn'y play well but thats not Clarkes fault for picking them, he had to go with experience as the team was already loaded with rookies. I think we were just outplayed, Both sides played some phenominal golf and basically the Americans putted better than the europeans.
