I'll put it in here as well. Forster very likely to withdraw from the England team with a slight injury.
Ha, Hart will always be Number one. Forster has a felt a pull in his upper leg. Which meant he couldn't kick properly or come out a lot.
I didn't see any of today's game, but I've noticed Fraser looking uncomfortable in games since the Prague match, especially after kicking.
Good job he's got a couple of weeks to sort it out then. Mind you, Alex looks a safe back up, it's a while since we've had such a good no. 2 keeper!
http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/...otten-as-southampton-continue-to-impress.html Article from Ladbrokes about our improvement in form...adding that we may look good for a top 6 finish if this continues. Also suggests that we may need another striker...strange none of us have thought of that.
<cough>Pelle<cough> Oh my God! A year ago? Remembered more for Mourinho's rant than Saints' 3 excellent goals.
One of my favourite games from last season. I could easily watch it all now [still have the 90 minutes] if I didn't wince every time Mane or Pelle were involved. Two great Saints goals in this match, from Steven and Graziano.
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2016-10-03/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-southampton-fans-thanks Hojbjerg praises Saints fans and says how they can always be heard at away matches. Certainly true when you watch a match on the TV.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/14779442.Romeu_hails__clever__Puel/?ref=rss Romeu praises Puel's tactics especially in his squad rotation. Hasn't rotated you much though...has he Oriol?
Rightly so. He's got better and better. Eventually, I should imagine Mo Gimpel will show Puel his performance chart, and back he'll go onto the sub's bench for a game. Years ago they'd play every 3 days, week in, week out, but not at the pace the game is played nowadays. And Oriol doesn't exactly have quiet games either.
Southampton have the 20th most expensive squad in world football. Quite surprised by that personally, even with the wealth of the premier league. http://metro.co.uk/2016/10/03/manch...squad-in-history-according-to-report-6168438/
On the other hand, we're the 9th & last Premiership team on that list. That's about right in terms of where I expected us to be in terms of PL spending. We're in the world top 20 because the PL as a whole is awash with cash. The fact that I can't really think of anyone else who should be on that list, but isn't is even more surprising.
And the difference between our expensively assembled squad and other expensively assembled squads is that our squad cost sod all net price. ManU's, for example, cost almost single sodding penny.
