Mat's on a wobbler again! Everyone rein it in! ....Wasn't the grass green! That was good wasn't it! ...Can you remember when the sprinklers came on?! I knew that was going to happen, I said it earlier! ...oops!
Getting back to footballing matters - Interesting article from Chris Lakey, senior sport writer at Archant - "At 3-2 up, Bennett came on for Jacob Murphy: Newcastle knew then City were worried about losing the game, thus the initiative was handed over. They went for the kill, and got it.he Newcastle goals were a result of: 1 Poor defending; 2 Bassong’s mistake in the air; 3 A player unmarked in the area for a cross; 4 Goalkeeping error. The wobbly defence is no solid foundation for those in front: Bassong is too often an accident waiting to happen and the full-backs are sacrificing defensive duties for attacking prowess. Never mind the search for a striker, what about the search for defensive reinforcements? Being second in the table is excellent: what is worrying is that damned Achilles heel." We have all known that for a lot of seasons now, and see these articles every few months.... ......Groundhog Day.
I liked you general....Don't copy a cun........ Have your own opinions. Sorry had to copy the cun......... Do I have to have my own opinions? Bah!
Some interesting articles on the EDP website this morning. This quote from AN - “We didn’t get undone by quality or skill, like you might find in the Premier League, but lower league punting the ball and playing the percentages." "The difficulty was we couldn’t get up to pressure the ball so we ended up deeper and deeper. We needed to squeeze higher and then win the battles and win the duels. If you don’t then you are much nearer your own box and that is a problem." Newcastle's 2nd goal was a 50 yard punt that left Bassong helpless!!! Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ed_says_norwich_city_boss_alex_neil_1_4719072 Then this one from Chris Reeve and he is trying to calm the 'troubled waters' - "For me, Ryan Bennett not playing from the start as centre back over Russell Martin or Sebastien Bassong is criminal. Those two as a partnership brought back so many (not so pleasant) memories of our relegation last season. With Newcastle’s pace going forward, it was a nightmare waiting to unfold. As a consequence, our defence was mauled to pieces in that first half and in the final minutes of the game. The highlights revealed the pure truth too. Bassong was a passenger for Newcastle’s last three goals. It just shows how important the presence of Timm Klose is at the back for us. In contrast to our defensive displays, going forward we look half decent, once again." SO much is going to depend on AN's teamselection and IMO, I REALLY hope Bassong doesn't start, as he is just 'a mistake waiting to happen!!!' When the same mistakes are repeated time after time it's not hindsight that's needed but a bit of foresight and the ability to learn from experience.
Last word on Monsieur Bassong and St James park on MFW from the 'no holds barred' Will Jennings. Can't disagree with what he says, either - Christ knows why Alex Neil can't see what's as plain as the nose on his face? http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...t-of-the-late-late-midweek-chaos-on-tyneside/
Thanks for posting the link Cromer. I'm just hoping that AN 'wakes up and smells the coffee' with regards to Bassong's ineptitude on Wednesday and he suffers the same fate as Naismith and Whittaker.
