Giggs is bound to be a 2 wingers, attack and put balls in the box type. He said as much in an interview when he had those 4 games at man United as manager. You get Giggs and he'd have Sir Alex Ferguson on tap helping him through his 1st job. Can't go wrong.

It is experience we need not a first time manager who may or may not be good and an unknown factor. With a good experience manager at least we know he has premiership experience .....Who ...i dont have a bloody clue....

But wouldn't a good, experienced manager already be in a job? That's the problem here and with WHU, Stoke and a few others struggling, we need to get in first.

Not necessarily valley.....Jose was out of a job as it never worked out at Chelsea......It happens but top clubs still wanted him....can you see anyone wanting Guildo in the premiership because i fail to see who.....There is a number of managers out of work and it's just a case of finding someone suitable....wages should not come into it with what we can lose if we go down....

I'd like to see us go for Marcelino García Toral. Had an impressive stint at Villarreal who play eye catching football. Also he's not afraid to go up against the board.

    The Mirror is reporting:

The Swans will wield the axe if they lose to Liverpool next week — and the Man United legend wants Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt on his staff if he gets the job

Ryan Giggs and Chris Coleman top a five-man shortlist drawn up by Swansea City chiefs as they prepare to fire Francesco Guidolin.

And if former Manchester United and Wales star Giggs does get the nod to replace the Italian, he will ask former Old Trafford team-mates Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes to join his backroom team.

Butt is currently in charge of United’s academy and would have to give serious thought to turning his back on the Mancunian giants. But Scholes, now working as a TV pundit, would be available immediately, and Giggs would love to have him as part of his set-up.

Guidolin is unlikely to be sacked this week, despite the fact his side have won just one of their first six Premier League games - away to promoted Burnley on the opening day.

The club's top brass accept any manager would have difficulties against league leaders Manchester City, who beat them 3-1 on Saturday (having also won 2-1 at the Liberty in the EFL Cup three days earlier).

But another defeat, at home to in-form Liverpool next weekend, would seal Guidolin’s fate and a new man could then be appointed during the October international break.

It is understood chairman Huw Jenkins and the club’s new American owners plan to speak to Giggs, with talks potentially taking place this week.

Swansea-born Wales boss Coleman, who made more than 150 appearances for his hometown club between 1987 and 1991, is also in the running.

He would be a popular choice among Swans fans, even if his appointment would hurt the national team.

Coleman, 46, is a manager in demand after guiding Gareth Bale and co to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 in the summer despite it being the first finals for the Welsh since 1958.

He turned down an approach from promoted Hull City on the back of that success, but has made no secret of the fact he wants to return to Premier League management.

Guidolin has been described as a “dead man walking” by Swansea sources in the past week and a defeat by Liverpool, who put five past Hull on Saturday for their fourth win in a row, will end his eight-month reign at the Liberty Stadium.

    Giggs and Coleman.

Anyone have any ideas as to who the other 3 are?

I like to give credit when credit is due and credit has to go with the team today as there was some lovely moves and Gylfi missed a sitter and their penalty i'm not sure about. I cannot make up my mind having watched it 10 times. On one hand the citeh player looks to have made a right meal of it and went down far too quickly and on the other hand our player did use his hand across his eyes with minimum force and you cant do that.....We see the same thing in most matches and the ref does nothing so we were a bit unlucky there. For me this was a better performance than the cup game even though they scored one more goal......A much better effort today...

Having seen it on the box I thought we had just as good a shout when VDH was blocked off and received a slight elbow.as well.

I'll be gutted if we steal Coleman away from the Wales job. He's got to get us to the World Cup first. He's built up such belief in the squad that it would be devastating for him to leave now.

Whoever we get if we change manager must be willing to play to our strengths rather than force us into a game that is alien to us - we have wingers with pace to burn - use them FFS !

This was all avoidable if Jenkins wiped the sleep out of his eyes in the summer and appointed correctly.

Coleman said a couple of years ago that he wouldn't manage Swansea because if things went badly there would be local pressure on his Swansea family.

Agree Stereo. I want to see Coleman finish what he's started with Wales and get us to the world cup first. Then maybe take over in a few years time.
