Just met one of your ex players from the 80's while on holiday. Trevor Putney. ****ing funny bloke. Dunno whether any of you are old enough to remember him.
Trevor joined us from Ipswich and was welcomed by the majority of Ciy fans. Played on the left side midfield. A good pro
I'm certain he scored in the first ever game I went to, in 1987 when we beat Arsenal 2 - 1 at Highbury in the final game of the season to finish 5th. I used to live 300 yards from the stadium, so it would have been rude not to go
The guy was hilarious. Trotted out a recent story of being back at your ground being given a tour by his mate Bryan gunn as was invited to do a bit of punditry on a game. He starts taking the piss out of him as apparently in the players lounge there are photos of gunn everywhere.. He then says to him in proper cockney drawl, facking Ell mate, you been shagging delia to have this many photos up. As they turn the corner theres delia. He walks up to her an says awight darling I've got all your books. Everyone in the boozer erupted laughing. Top top bloke.

Comment from Tim Close at yesterday's presser - "#ncfc TK intimates his national boss won't pick him while he is playing in the second tier. 'maybe I play golf or go to more beaches.'". That's the commitment we need fun or players!!!
United scored against the run of play. Poor old Leicester. Pretty even now, United have come back into it a bit.
4-0!! This half has been pretty even, maybe Leicester shaded the first half of the first half! They have totally switched off defensively! Madness!
Cream always rises to the top Leicester were one season wonders unfortunately, a relegation battle awaits them
Oh god. I can't stop saying in my head "Simpson Hey?" In Mr Burns voice every time the commentator mentions him...
I really have no idea why you have such a downer on Sunderland! They have some of the friendliest fans in the country, they get around 40,000 fans for home games, they always sell out for away games plus they have two big clubs in close proximity! I guess you're just a kid, too young to remember the Milk Cup final of '85 when we had 200 a side footie in the car park!
I'm not a kid, but I was 1 when the Milk Cup was. So I admit I do struggle to remember that final, yes.
