Unless they had a camera guy too... well theres no proof you were ever there. If you saw no flash and he didnt pull you over then hes prob not bothered.

Remember you said about 80. Your speedo is prob a liitle fast anyway and it might have been 75 or something in his gun.

They are looking for road warriors going 90 or 100 to bother chase as its a right faff to get back in position etc etc.

The guns don't have flashes, they have night vision.

Maybe last century they would. Nowadays they just send a letter.

They don't have the time/resources to chase folks down anymore.

Theoretically, you could go out in the morning with no points and be banned by the time you get home!

Yeah but thats cameras. The guy in the car is looking for dangerous driving and excessive speed to make a chase woth while

If you get a fune in the post with no proof you can go to court and deny or say wasnt me driving etc etc..

They have to have video or picture and give evidence of speed seen.

They aint the wild west!

Nope. If it's your car you take responsibility for it. If you say you wasn't driving you have to say who was else you get the blame.

They don't chase people anymore. They don't have the time or resources, it's also a health & safety issue; they don't want to encourage a high speed car chase!

Radar then, whatever. They still don't have a flash.

Just asking if you know whatever is being pointed is a recording device or not.

I dunno. A guy with a radar gun would have a camera in the car and get the speed on that if the chase is worth it.

The speed camera system is for me that does the heavy lifting no?

As i said, it doesn't really matter. If they've clocked you speeding (and have your registration) then you're ****ed.

I reckon the guns will have camera facilities on nowadays. It'll record the reg plate somehow

Only hope is, it's a survey gun but unlikely to be police doing that

well we will see i suppose IBWT needs ot speed past a few times next time to see.

I suppose we could google this stuff but eventually someone will tell us lazy sods the actual case.

So was driving back late last night and was dark doing about 80 on main road... and then suddenly saw a police car parked up with dude outside it with speed gun.. so annoying because it's in a place where I know they sometimes are but I'd never seen one late at night so didn't even think about it. Didn't see it until was literally alongside either because it was dark. What a pain.

Now got the dreaded wait to see if got caught or not <grr>

By 'main road' you mean 40 limit, 30 limit, national limit ??

I said he was doing 79 in a 70 to me

yeah i thought that too.

My speedo is deffo off though. I go by those stupid thanks you are doing 30 signs and my clock says 35. so who knows what speeds it was on the filth's gun.

clearly he wasn't worth chasing anyway. If it had been 90... well then you'd see a different story IMO.

Yep. Reality is he was doing somewhere between 75-77 rather than 79.

Allowing for 10% on roads means he could have legally been travelling at 77mph.

Add the 'area for argument' on spend guns / cameras means you could actually do 78-79mph before being caught.

He's probably safe [HASHTAG]#jinx[/HASHTAG]

yeah the 31 in a 30 is within the accuracy thing is very annoying. at 70 who knows. 74/75 deffo they won't bother with.

a hand held gun will always have shake and accuracy issues so i would say they only look for the loons.

Was a guy leaning on open door with a gun/radar/camera. I was going past him quick and it was dark so didn't get s great look lol
