It is, it's the City and County of Kingston upon the River Hull.
The East Riding and Lincolnshire can do their bit by keeping the stench down when they're chucking **** over their subsidised fields and our roads. Maybe they could tart up some of their dilapidated barns as respect to their history.
I think they've actually signed up to their part in the City of Culture anyway, which kind of pisses on your misguided bitterness,

I've listened to the whole thing and other than something on the Humber Bridge, I can't remember anything being announced outside of Hull?
Gunwharf Quay was developed privately with little if any input from the council. Though they didn't object to everything as might have happened in some other cities I can think of.
Gunwharf Quay has 90 shops, 30 restaurants and a 14-screen Vue cinema, 26-lane Bowlplex Bowling Alley, Aspex art gallery, Grovenor casino, a Holiday Inn Express and a Tiger Tiger nightclub. It also has residential properties. A penthouse apartment there was recently sold for £2.5million.
Was in Hampshire last year when it was proposed that the Spinnaker Towervwas repainted red, the sponsors colours, instead of blue. You would have thought WW3 had broken out. The suggestion that Southampton FC'S colours would be used on something in Portsmouth had everyone in state of apoplexy, None of the supine attitude of so many in Hull about the people paying the money should decide as happened with Allam's proposals. The local media didn't do any of the devil's advocate nonsense our local media displays either. Vehemently against it and on the side of the protestors. Plans to paint it red were dropped and it remains red. Could do with more of that sort of attitude in Hull.

DMD gets in a hussy fit again because Hull has to use East Riding facilities. And lots of people coming to Hull with to pass over the East Riding's iconic Humber Bridge.
Maybe Hull could try feeding itself on the food produced in the city boundaries? Which roads in Hull are they throwing fertiliser over incidentally?
I think Hull begged them to use their facilities as they can't cope. No indoor venue with the capacity of Brid Spa. And there still won't be after £37milkion has been spent on the new monstrosity.

No hissy fit at all on my part, just a piss take of a negative and bitter poster, who has no real point of his own, but keeps just inventing negativity.
I don't recall anyone 'hating' the East Riding, as you insist on repeatedly trying to imply, in fact many of us love it. It's just tiresome reading some village idiot constantly showing his ignorance and trying to deride Hull.
If you don't like Hull, don't bother with it, it's no great loss to us...and before you reply with your usual line, yep, lot's from the East Riding have supported City for years, it doesn't mean you're right with constant one eyed bollocks.
City of Culture, we know what we are.
I think that, as they're so keen to be a part of Hull, and recognise the opportunities being part of the City of Culture brings, we could expand the boundary, even as a temporary, honourary thing, so they can feel part of it all.
Good idea! There's some great locations that they could put something like that for views down the Humber and Humber Bridge etc.
As long as they get planning permission, the glass elevator at the Humber Bridge should do the trick.
Will they get permission though? There has been quite a few objections I understand. Not sure why as it would be great to have the glass elevator. But why not have something down near the Humber Quays Offices as well?
There you can look down towards the Humber Bridge and up towards the Deep. You can't actually look at much of the bridge if you are on an elevator attached to it.
It would fit in well with the expected tourism around the fruit market and Marina.

Lived in Hull for a number of years. Both my kids were born in Hull. Also lived and worked in other cities.
You want to try life outside the HU postcode. Might open your eyes, and mind, a little bit. Get rid of the insular, parochial attitude which makes you so defensive about Hull.
