Because let's be honest, the Norwich and Swansea squads are lightyears behind the rest of the Prem. I find your knowledge of the Prem pretty flawed. West Brom will definitely be a force this season. Stoke, Fulham, Everton, Sunderland will probably all be challenging for Europe. Newcastle could go either way because of their useless owner but they are still miles ahead. I can see Norwich winning five or six games this season, maybe a few more if they're lucky but certainly not enough to stay afloat.

so you find my lack of knowledge of the premier league flawed, yet believe your own club can become a giant of europe in this most impossible of leagues!!

what a prat <laugh>

<laugh>

that isn't going to happen yorkie. its a pipe dream and you've believed it. ipswich a global brand??? <laugh> there were tears streaming from my eyes when i read that. the hilarity is too much... football has moved on. it is not possible for a club like ipswich to become a global brand. its time you moved on, you're living in the past and you're future is being told by the fairies apparently

Typical good ole Norfolk small-mindedness. As the Norwich tour guide once told me on the river as we passed Carrow Road: "Norwich is the graveyard of ambition".

neither side can argue one case one way or the other UNTIL deep into the season. ipswich might storm the league. they could equally come bottom - thats how barmy that league is. as for us, we certainly won't be storming the league, but we have a very realistic chance of being 17th or better, and that is all we have to aim for. worst case scenario, if we go down, we will be able to keep most of our players and come back stronger in the championship - thats good management. but when you look at the mess some clubs are getting into, particularly blackburn, it gives us a good chance, abetter chance than ipswich fans give us credit - and i think deep down they know we have a good chance.

Land Cuckoo Cloud!

You will lose your better players once you're relegated along with your manager no doubt!

i repeat yorkie, you've just claimed that the premier league is too difficult for us, yet claim that ipswich will have no problems becoming a giant, global brand?

Because Superman you haven't strengthened. We are not going to do that this season or next season, it's a long-term aim. I'm sure that when we are back in the Premier League the money will be there to sign some serious players. I'm sure even you can see the difference.

It's crystal clear to anyone looking at the Norwich squad at this moment in time that it's nowhere near even Wigan's or Bolton's.

by the way, with a weaker team last time, we still beat the likes of newcastle and manchester united at home. surprises do happen. we might just surprise one of the big boys this time around. i'd like it to be liverpool! so many of my friends are liverpool fans - it would be great to beat them this time :)

Of course you would be able to keep most of your players. Because they are mostly championship standard players at best! most of them have only had one exceptional season in the championship!

but we HAVE strengthened. just cos you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they aren't better players! de laet is outstanding in pre-season so far, an absolute gem. bennett has been scoring from distance and looks like he will be a star, morison has been scoring regularly, naughton is an outstanding young full back... one thing is for sure, not one of your signings this summer would get in our team <ok>

<laugh> Ipswich won't storm the league and neither will we finish bottom or anywhere near. We will likely finish anywhere 2nd - 10th, but it's progress in the football we want to see this term rather than league position.

I think Swansea will probably finish bottom but I don't expect Norwich to survive.

So you rate Ruddy ahead of Stockdale. Just goes to show really how little you know about what you're letting yourselves in for.

its a valid point guru. but unless you give them the chance, how do you know if they can cut it at the top level? we are giving them that chance and as i repeat, if we go down, we will have the strongest team in the championship to try and get back up first time of asking. then we can build again on top of what we have. we aren't going to go bust in the hope of staying up - we still want a football club to support in years to come...

you have hit the nail on the there yorkie, what we have that they don't is somebody who can finance us in the premiership IF we get there! the budgies are relying on another fluke season and perhaps selling a couple of car parks to finance themselves.

are you basing how highly you rate stockdale on the fact he got called up to the england squad or on what you have seen of him? he is a good young keeper, but so is ruddy. england have such a shortage of keepers that a different one gets called up each squad. who knows, maybe ruddy will be next. what i do know from seeing stockdale is that you'll have the same issues dealing with crosses that fulop has...
