I was at that game and there were reasons it ended 6-0. It was never a true thrashing, but there is now way you'll take anything I say as anything other than excuses. What happened happened. It is ancient history now (but not nearly as ancient as ipswich success lol).

I can guarantee you one thing, although it was not nice to be relegated, it didn't hurt nearly as much as you must have felt after the derby's last season. I know this because I also remember you beating us 5-0 a few years back.

but you agree that before that, you were being run in a poor manner? plus, the only reason you are up this summer is cos of the wickham money... you won't be able to do that every year! i find it doubtful that money will be reinvested into your team, surely it will cover your owners cost for a year or so

<doh> Another poor wind up attempt from the Budgie Brigade!

Why oh why are they so obsessed with us?

It reminds me of the old Bette Midler song "It must have been cold there in my shadow!" <laugh>

ME and Clegg weren't experienced at running a football club so they had to rely on the manager to guide them when it came to transfers. With hindsight ME should have appointed an experienced Chief Exec but that's in the past. Clegg and ME now have some experience and have a manager they can rely on. We will catch up with you lot in no time and I can see PJ being our manager for a long time, he's been inspirational in the transfer market so far and looks a great man-manager.

And your point about relying on the Wickham money is nonsense. ME promised to back PJ as he did Magilton and Keane well before we knew we would be selling Wickham. ME's finances are on the up and there's no reason he wouldn't continue to invest in the club as long as we are improving and moving towards our goal of being a Premier League club.

Come on, it wasn't THAT poor and at least it was merely a gentle humorous prod rather than some of the nastiness that can occur. If the roles were reversed and you were a league above us I would expect similar except when we were in league 1. You didn't really have too much to brag about tha season did you? Maybe we wont in a few weeks time. You might be flying at the top of the champ while we are struggling for points here and there. I doubt it, but you never know.

" Every time Norwich play away there are 20,000+ fans up here that cannot get a ticket to go. "

I guess thats why Wigan away is on general sale on your website, when the away allocation is 5000 ???

    Good work.... ;)

good point svedust about the lack of knowledge running a football club. all very well having an owner who doesn't know but we also made the mistake of having a chief executive with no idea, neil 'doomcaster' doncaster. it was interesting that the minute we employ a football man, david mcnally, in that position, we toughened up and moved forward on the field as well as off it. i know clegg has received stick from many fans. is this still the case?

as for catching up with us in no time, i feel this is naive. we are streets ahead of you in terms of ability, as was proved twice last season. you are a mid-table team thriving to reach the top six. there is a lot of work to be done and at present your team isn't good enough - this may change with three or four more purchases. obviously, nobody really definitively knows the motives of your owner so nobody can comment with authority to say whether he will continue to invest or not. if you improve this season there would be no reason for him to cut his losses. however, another flirt with the drop zone and things may change, thats all i'm saying. <ok>

westlake, they only initially gave us an allocation of 3,000 which all went to away season ticket holders. we requested more and they only recently agreed, hence why i only just managed to get my ticket and others are still buying theirs <ok>

as i understand it, we have requested even more!

We'll sell the vast mojority of our allocation be fore that game. I'd be suprised if there are not at least 4500 Norwich fans at that one. Doesn't change the fact that there will be 20,000+ fans who would have gone to a game at Carrow Road who will be at a loose end that day.

can't see why not! more than capable of beating any of swansea, qpr, bolton, west brom, wolves, aston villa, newcastle, stoke, fulham, everton, sunderland, wigan, blackburn. probably wouldn't even need to win 9 - its rare that 40 points is required to stay up - its usually about 37/38.

you make it sound like we shouldn't bother to turn up because we won't be able to beat anybody which is absolute nonsense!

To be fair westlake, i reckon they will sell their tickets. If you think about it a relegation 6 pointer should sell out quite quick.

The motives of the owner are really very simple. He wants to make money in the long run by getting the team into Europe and making Ipswich a global brand. The last couple of years were a hiccup but I wouldn't expect that to change the ambition. I'm sure it has been a very useful learning process for Clegg and Evans.

in fairness, it is a big match for both teams! not sure you can call it a relegation 6 pointer until you definitively know where the teams are heading, but on paper, its a game we need to try and win if possible or at least get a point from

They've been available for general sale on your website for a while.

You will sell out in the end yeah, just surprised you haven't yet.

Love how you guys still bang on about attendances ;) !

that isn't going to happen yorkie. its a pipe dream and you've believed it. ipswich a global brand??? <laugh> there were tears streaming from my eyes when i read that. the hilarity is too much... football has moved on. it is not possible for a club like ipswich to become a global brand. its time you moved on, you're living in the past and you're future is being told by the fairies apparently

so you are saying that you reckon out of that list you would fail to win only 4 games out of 13. you're living in cloud cuckoo land! at the most i reckon you will scrap 20 points at the most.

Because let's be honest, the Norwich and Swansea squads are lightyears behind the rest of the Prem. I find your knowledge of the Prem pretty flawed. West Brom will definitely be a force this season. Stoke, Fulham, Everton, Sunderland will probably all be challenging for Europe. Newcastle could go either way because of their useless owner but they are still miles ahead. I can see Norwich winning five or six games this season, maybe a few more if they're lucky but certainly not enough to stay afloat.
