Sounded like a bore draw. Glad I missed it to be honest. Las Palmas next up on 10th September.

Iborra is our Captain and plays defensive midfield rather than straight defender but last year he scored 9 goals or so when Emery used him in a much more offensive way and he moved into an attacking role. Think he has a couple of years left on his contract. Can't see why he'd want to go to Sunderland (apart from all the obvious reasons) when he could be getting Champions League football rather than an almost certain relegation battle.

Bet you won't be missing The Big one on the 20th though Fulhaman. Quite hectic even, with Juventus and Eibar squashed in between that game on the 10th and then.

Well, quite. Don't know if you know but it's a 9:00pm kick off. That would never happen in the UK - can you imagine the police letting Man City Vs Man Utd, Liverpool Vs Everton or Birmingham Vs Aston Villa kick off that late - or the mayhem that here would be if they did. To be fair there is quite often trouble from both sets of Ultra's (who are about as nasty a group of thugs as you could wish to meet) but it always takes place well away from the ground - people have been killed in the past.

Happy with that. Plus we have loaned an Italian keeper from PSG - Sirigu, and Iborra to Sunderland went belly up (that'll teach Moyes to say he's in a relegation battle after two games).

Better result for the other lot but boy did they leave it late - 2 goals in the last 5 minutes.

Deliberate ploy. Keeps the Betis rif-raf from getting tickets.

It was a day off. Unfortunately I do have to work, the surroundings and lifestyle have their compensations though.

Draw away from home against Juve. I'll take that. The big news out here tonight was Real Madrid coming back from 1 down in the 89th minute to win. The big news last night was Barca absolutely stuffing Celtic, which I watched on TV. They were hopeless and Dembele looked like a lost soul, especially after the penalty miss. The Señora laughed out loud when he missed and called him something in somewhat unladylike language.

A pretty poor result really. They are the sort of team we should beat without too much trouble.

Literal translation never work so I have modified slightly, apart from a few phrases that might not make make that much sense in English but made me smile.

Rather than a point gained Sevilla FC lost two during this visit to Ipurua. It is a painful synthesis of a shock that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, because although Jorge Sampaoli's team was clearly second best in the first half hour , they went ahead. With their fans behind them, however, Eibar reacted with pride in the end and although the Nervionenses generated more than enough chances to win, they ended up watching helplessly and a win in the league will have to wait another week.

The Andalusians didn't have the best performance, obviously. Sevilla had an offensive look on paper, with Ben Yedder and escorting Correa Vietto up and Ganso and Kiyotake behind . Despite this ambitious set up, control at the beginning of the clash was clearly Eibar's. The home side had the ball and also generated the best chances. Sevilla suffered without possession and seemed genuinely unable to keep it, overcome by the intensity shown by the Basques.

The chances for Eibar soon arrived, but the good work of the nervionense defense offered much security. On the quarter hour Rami had to leave injured, and Escudero came on which restructured the entire back line, Kolo moved to the middle with Carriço. Carriço diverted two shots clear with Sirigu in trouble and Escudero Pedro Leon took a shot from inside the area. Sevilla suffered, but painted the picture worse for Eibar after exquisite service through Kiyotake and a goal from Vietto, changed the game.

With the lead Sevilla were the better team until half-time without doing anything special, basically playing to the frustration of Eibar, and the nervionenses dominated the match. Ganso got the ball, and one of his passes, in fact, empowered Correa, who stood before Yoel alone and was brought down by the keeper who was given a red card.

The match was sweet , but in the second half Carriço, was leaving also injured. This forced a change, this time Iborra came on to try to resolve the mess . In the meantime, also Vitolo had entered for Ben Yedder.

The situation was and should have been bearable but Sevilla did not quite sink their teeth into a match that was in their interests to do so. Despite their numerical superiority, the nervionenses were not able to prevail in the attacking half. Eibar, seeing that pushed on with renewed heroism and with that momentum achieved the unthinkable with 25 minutes left. Pedro Leon scored with a quick finish against the sevillistas .

Seeing victory slipping through their fingers Sevilla reacted with conviction. Vitolo appeared all over the place as did Vietto, but it was not their day, even playing in the final minutes against nine, after Dani Garcia was sent off for stopping a counter attack.

In fact, although Sevilla had the match won, given the circumstances , it was a fair draw. The fact Sevilla did not get the victory was mainly because Sampaoli lacked the authority to handle a situation he never should have found himself in.

Needless to say, the Senora is very happy. She goes off today to merrily taunt the Betico's that she works with.

Peace and happiness reign in Casa Fulhaman.

    Gracias Dios.
