http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37408517 Seriously? Why would anyone give up such a lucrative position to focus on religion?
I went to the under 23 game last night and I have to say that I thought the NCFC team seemed high on endeavour, but there wasn't too much skill on show. This is partly due to some of the better under 23 players being in the squad for tonight's game against Everton. Killip made some excellent saves and even saved the penalty, but could do nothing about the rebound. Higgs was also quite impressive Report here - http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/arti...ort-norwich-city-west-ham-united-3316926.aspx Edit - I see the 'Special One' is already upsetting the players - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...layers-after-public-attack-their-performance/ and he's ready to drop Rooney!!!!
Because to some there are more important things than money. The fact he's done it for a skypixie is a bit ******ed, but I'm sure for those that believe it is very important. Bah!
Not being funny but those players deserve a rocket, losing meekly to Watford with the team and resources they have is not good enough. Now Mourinho needs to look closer at home too, but those players need to have a good look at themselves. On the other hand Mourinho used to back his players no matter what, it seems he is becoming a grumpy outspoken old man who likes nothing more than a winge! Sounds like a number of our posters! Bah!
Phil Mulryne left NCFC to study the cloth and become a roman catholic priest. " Mulryne is to be ordained as a priest for the diocese by 2016."
Just goes to prove it doesn't matter how much you spend on players, if you can't gel them as a team it's pointless. Man U are becoming a big joke!!
wow - I did not know that so just looked it up. At least he was closer to the normal retirement age but still.........I find it incredible (keeping it civil)
Probably because he believes that some things are more important than the filthy lucre. Well done him for making that choice.
Well timed, this article was published today in the Belfast Telegraph: Former Manchester United star Philip Mulryne has been declared bankrupt — just days after he took a huge step on his spiritual journey to become a Catholic priest. The 38-year-old ex-Northern Ireland midfielder earned up to £500,000 a year during his playing heyday with Norwich City, and he dated sexy model Nicola Chapman. But Mulryne, of Creeslough Park, west Belfast, was last week declared insolvent at the city’s High Court. Legal papers reveal he sought the order himself, and the bankruptcy was described as a “self adjudication”. The ex-footballer surprisingly turned his back on the high life several years ago to train for the priesthood with the Dominican Order. He is due to become a fully ordained priest next summer. He made his ‘solemn profession’ to the Order in a ceremony at St Saviour’s Priory in Dublin earlier this month. Brother Mulryne could not be contacted for comment about his financial difficulties yesterday. He enrolled at the Pontifical Irish College in Rome in 2009, his first step on his journey to becoming a priest. At the time his former Norwich City team-mate Paul McVeigh spoke of his “amazement” and “shock” when he learned of the decision, and travelled to meet his friend in Rome during his initial training. “I know for a fact that this is not something he took lightly,” he said at the time. “When I arrived in Rome I was met by a very contented looking Phil.” Mulryne was no stranger to controversy during his time as a footballer, having been sent home in disgrace from a Northern Ireland squad in 2005 after breaking a curfew to go drinking with team-mate Jeff Whitley. Mulryne is the latest in a long line of high profile ex-footballers to go bankrupt.
Both Pinto and Jacob sound really positive in this and the overall impression is a good one. AN is honest, open and evaluative. I'm encouraged. OTBC !!

Press conference under way at Colney Timm Klose on the mic: "TK on transfer spec in summer. 'I spoke to the national coach but both myself + my partner love it in Norfolk. TK: yes my national coach wanted me to go to a higher league but I am happy here + I never doubted my decision to stay." TK: 'norfolk is a beautiful place. I don't know how many beaches we have been and visited' We loved Cromer, but avoided that festering hell-hole four miles west in case we caught something nasty"
