In summary, East Germany was better than West Germany? That's the most words to mention the worst conspiracy theory posted on this thread so far.
He seemed to think so. Despite not having been there. Jack Jones once said he felt at home there. Though he didn't decide to go and live there to enjoy its delights. Guess there weren't many well paid jobs as Union leaders there. Not much point for them as strikes were banned.
In my case I look at the evidence and choose what my views are on that.for instance until recently I believed the apollo spacecraft would have fried the astronauts with radiation if they had gone through van Haylens belt but now I understand that the radiation was a bombardment of proteins or something similar and nasa managed to plot their way through.i still have a problem with the photos and the luner landing though.
You could be right but the explanation wasn't available at the time and if I'm honest I don't know enough to debunk the explanation.so I accept their words
If old people who will be dead soon can have the vote, people who believe in conspiracy theories can as well.
Why is it? I was talking to my dad about the impacts global warming might have in 50 years time and he turned around and said 'well, I'll be dead in 50 years so it's none of my business'. The point of my post was that if people who don't have many years left can vote for short-term self-interest then people who believe in wild conspiracy theories ought to be able to vote as well.
Anyone can be dead soon. Can think of half a dozen fellow City supporters who have died in last 3 or 4 years, a smashing lass who was a leading light in running the local pub football team and a number of ex work colleagues all of who were younger than me, up to 10 years in most cases. The most recent one whose death was a blessing as he had dementia from his late 40s and passed away in his mid fifties. Just the sort of stupid remark he would come out with. Similar to a poster on CI, who has disappeared recently, who thinks anyone over 65 should have their pensions stopped and be shifted off to old folks homes and their houses and possessions divided up amongst the deserving younger ones. Except for his dad whose very large pension would be exempt no doubt.
Nothing to stop them voting. Though technically they should be disqualified under the no peers, criminals or lunatics being allowed allowed to vote rule.
Arf Voting when you have no investment in outcomes is not the same as voting when you have no clue and are borderline dangerous in your delusions.
Castro was the one who said he was 'frightened' that people who believe conspiracy theories can vote. My analogy was that if old people can vote on the future of younger generations, even if they won't witness or suffer the consequences, then people who believe in bizarre conspiracy theories can vote. A significant minority of people in this country hate immigrants, for no logical reason. They can still vote and their voting habits are definitely more dangerous than those people who believe the CIA might have had something to do with the attacks on the WTC. I don't believe old people should be disenfranchised from voting.
Not matter hope long you persist in repeating yourself, the argument was illogical and still is! Keep modifying it, though, you may get there.
Why was it illogical? I didn't actually say anyone should be disqualified from voting, that was Castro.
