I remember reading something shortly after the attack, saying that one of the reasons that fire spread so quickly and the internal damage was so extensive, was due to alterations made to the offices over recent years. Originally, the WTC was built with lots of small offices, but over recent years, most floors had been altered to make them almost completely open plan and this dramatically reduced the fire protection offered by all the internal walls.

That's right up there with how was Simon Walton a professional footballer.

It's high level stuff we're delving into here. Watch out for unmarked cars and men wearing trench coats with sunglasses.

Where do hose who agree with him get their facts from? Articles by swivel-eyed loonies and conspiracy theorist nut jobs.

BTW, it is a well known fact Pearl Harbour was a stunt carried out by the US using copies of Japanese planes. People who don't believe that get their facts from TV news and newspapers.

In a lot of cases the media quote as facts information that is later challenged by others.for example other witnesses of the event and experts who disagree with the experts that the media have interviewed.in some cases it can look like the media have a story and bring in people to back that story up.we get this in everyday life reporting from the media too.most satellite stations copy their information from the mainstream.rarely do we see an opposing view of the incident so we can have a balanced view

Just to clarify, is it okay to use 'swivel eyed' when mentioning the Japanese?

What if no one, apart from loony conspiracy theorists who weren't present at the events, has an opposing view.

One of the best ones I've heard so far was some dingbat claiming the Twin Towers were blown up by explosives planted by the CIA and that the planes crashing into the Towers were CGI.

A great site with loads of documentaries (not just conspiracy) is:

    http://topdocumentaryfilms.com

A lot of it links to youtube but there are lots of documentaries on there covering a range of subjects and viewers vote on how good or not they are.

Easy to get lost in. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Read it again and you will see I didn't say everyone who had a different view to me was a loony. Certainly they are wrong, misguided or misinformed if they have a different view to me but not necessarily a loony. I said what if the only opposing views were from loonies who weren't there when it happened yet profess to have seen things more accurately than those who were.

Ahem...loony refers to lunar as in lunatic.
I have a couple of friends in the police and they have said that they notice a distinct difference in people's behaviour on a full moon. Sounds strange but apparently true.
There is a freemasons lodge in East Yorkshire that meets every full moon , one of only a handful of lunar lodges left in the country.

You win the award for not realising when anyone is having a joke. Unlike some who believe that anyone not agreeing with their outlandish conspiracy theories are not as well informed as them. Especially one who were at primary school at the time of 9/11 but think they are enter informed about structural engineering than people who have a background in these things.

Frightening to think people who believe some of this rubbish have the vote. Even more frightening, some of them are teaching young, impressionable minds.

I wasn't at Primary school when it happened.

You really don't want to go down the 'why are you teaching our children' road, if you think I'm irresponsible enough to put my own political and social viewpoints ahead of my children's needs, you are sadly mistaken. I take my job very seriously.

Whatever I've said on here has come through years of research, unlike some who have considered it for 5 seconds and watched a bit of Zeitgeist before paraphrasing a YouTube video they saw.

I'm always open to debate about any subject, but in a discussion I won't tolerate people marching in and calling bullshit without actually offering any rebuttal.

A bit like you marching in and telling everyone they are simpletons who don't get the full picture? BTW I didn't say you personally were at primary school when it happened. You really must learn how to read and inwardly digest what is written.
By research do you mean you have read something and decided that is what happened, no matter how ludicrous the claims? How anyone can take some of the people on that programme last night seriously is beyond comprehension. For some reason the programme makers gave them an easy ride instead of pointing out what hogwash they were coming out with.
The teaching thing was a bit lighthearted. I don't mean to cast aspersions on your professionalism. The biggest compliment I could pay to one of my teachers was that in the 1960s. a time when revolution was in the air and you were virtually compelled to try and bring about societal change and the downfall of everything your parents held dear, was that only in later years did I find he was as left wing as you could be. To me he was, as a grammar school teacher, a reactionary member of the establishment. Full marks to him for never letting his feelings or views show.
Unlike one of my sons teachers in the 1980s. He informed them during a geography lesson that the Berlin Wall wasn't necessarily there to keep people in but was there to keep undesirables out. I informed him in the pub that all you had to do to get in to the GDR was pay 35 Deutsche Marks and across you went. A good con as once there no one would accept the East German Marks they were converted to, all they wanted was foreign currency, especially pounds and dollars, to use on the black market and any remaining notes were taken off you (you had to account for any you had spent) and taken off you by grinning guards to disappear to heaven knows where. He argued, but as luck would have it someone was stood nearby and heard this. They had been doing some building work in West Berlin and confirmed what I had said.I said I would give him a pound for every person who had been shot trying to get in over the Wall if he would give me a pound for everyone shot trying to get out over it. And to stop telling my son daft things like he had done as well as saying that .East Germany was just like West Germany, the only difference being the government. Not the way for a teacher to conduct himself, as I am sure you would agree.
