On a lighter note, I'm just off to buy the ingredients for Sangria that my wife is preparing for a BBQ get-together at our Chinese neighbours on Thursday evening (they really liked it last time and asked for it again) - may just have to do some serious taste testing later to perfect the recipe.

The 5 Best Wines for Summer Sangria
Here are five specific wines that fit those guidelines.

    1. Garnacha - Garnacha (grenache grown in Spain) generally has lower tannins, showcases rich red fruits, and has great acidity. These characteristics make garnacha my personal go-to for making stellar red sangria.

This is the Spanish red wine I'm buying, available at the local, government run, liquor store + cheap brandy

Never ever get a cheap brandy pal, life's too short cheap alcohol ! I can strongly recommend Remy Martin, yes it's pricey but you'll recognise the difference and savour the taste.

    Angry ramblings:
    • Managers have been sacked for performances a lot less horrific than tonight's debacle. Even a simpleton would at least have ordered Shelby to be man-marked for the 2nd half.
    • Onouha really must be left out and stripped of the captaincy.
    • Washington's chance has been and gone. I doubt he had more than a handful of touches the entire game. Cylla did much more in 10 minutes.
    • I always like to give Karl Henry the benefit of the doubt but tonight there was no doubt - slow, negative as always and took no responsibility for the marauding Shelby.
    • It's not just the record home defeat - Newcastle looked unstoppable at times and will turn over many more poor sides this season - but the manner in which we capitulated without even an attempt to change tactics until it was 4-0.

Awful, horrible evening. Schlepped across London in the sweltering, muggyness to watch what looked like a bunch of random part-timers take on a premiership team. It really is true to say that Peacock was our standout performer. I've been an R's supporter for years and like any other QPR fan have seen more 5hite than a Mumbai proctologist, but tonight, JFH and co saved the utter toilet of performances for the hottest September in 40 odd years. I would like to believe that this one will go down in history but I have a worrying and horrible suspicion that the random bunch of largely unpronounceables that comprise our current "team" might actually allow the likes of Norwich to surpass tonight's score line. Don't worry about the seat stickers Mr Hoos, tonight's team effort will have caused a good slug of fans to want to retain their anonymity.

I am back...not much to say...positives first. Newcastle were class, JonJo Shelvey was outstanding. A class act, as were a number of other Toon players. There was an element of luck to the first goal and to at least one of their later ones.

Jimmy had thrown in the towel before kick off with that team. Picking Perch in front of Ned to give him extra protection...tells you all you need to know about our defence. As the goals went in the confidence and any sort of plan went.To say we were a shambles by the end is exaggerating how good we were.

It really disintegrated when Perch was injured (badly), we may not see him for the rest of the season...and before you all cheers just remember that leaves Ned in that position.
Caulker also pulled up with something nasty, will not argue with the shouts of "who cares" on this one..

Conor was no help upfront...he couldn't hold up the ball to save his life...
Cousins ,Bidwell, Yeni and Pawel all had complete nightmares.
    Chery tried, Sylla was keen..

I stayed to the end.... Bidwell came over to the loft and clapped us...we clapped him back...Hall came too.

Jimmy Floyd shook the hand of every QPR as he left the pitch...did not know what to make of that.
The few faithful who stayed to the end did not boo......I think we were so shell shocked.

Apparently that was our worse ever home defeat. So we saw history.

Last positive statement...it can only get better

I was talking about Washington, apologies for not making it clear. Sylla did okay when he came on, certainly not writing him off. It's becoming increasingly hard for me to keep patience with Washington however, particularly under jfh's tactics. I feel for him.
