Does anyone get the idea that half the Premier League are dining out on Saints' past hard work this season?!
Yes. Whilst we don't have a strong enough strike force or at least someone capable of spearheading the new one. Oh Graziano, where are you.?
We've started with different strikers for the past three games. Experimental stage of the season unfortunately. Part of me thinks it's tight on the fans seeing as the board had three months to sort this out. The other part of me kind of respects the board for being loyal to Jay Rod and Austin and trying to get them back into the frame. Anyway I've given up on a top half finish. I just want to avoid any humiliating thrashings and have a cup run to get excited about.
I haven't given up on anything. I didn't expect /demand anything either, as I was just prepared to see what happened and hope for the best.
I guess I should have put "given up hoping for a top half finish". ie: I still think we are capable of achieving it, but I'm not gonna slit my wrists every time we lose a game.
My view as an ever-optimistic Saints fan is that we're getting our traditional mid-season slump out of the way early this year. Once the players get used to the formation, which they seemed to have against Arsenal, and the strikers get some confidence, we'll start our march to 5th place.
More chance of Somerset winning the County Championship than the latter happening. Good luck but I feel Somerset need to be 10 points closer to Middlesex for that to possibility to happen.
Are Everton good or Sunderland just terrible? Well done to Everton and let's hope they can turn over the regular suspects like Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, and their own neighbours Liverpool.
Have a feeling this might be the situation until after Saints regular exit in the 3rd round of the FA Cup to Crystal Palace and then we'll see a climb up the table.
Same for me. Every season I take the Doris Day approach - "Que sera, sera". I often wonder how some coped with the Le Tissier years, when we were invariably near the bottom of the table, week in, week out. They must have been on sedatives.
