Sunderland and Southampton among Prem sides with transfer interest in clubless Uruguay World Cup defender Martin Caceres

Centre-half Caceres has over 50 caps and his CV also includes spells with Barcelona and Sevilla
Uruguay defender Martin Caceres is heading to the Premier League – with a cluster of clubs interested in making the former Juventus man a late addition to their squad, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People.

The 29-year-old centre-half or full-back is a free agent and has several offers pending, with West Brom, Southampton, Sunderland and Swansea all having registered an interest.

Chelsea have been linked strongly with the defender, given his previous relationship with Blues’ ex-Juve boss Antonio Conte, but the Londoners are not among his options.

Caceres is allowed to sign outside the window because he is unattached.

Caceres played in Uruguay's win over England at the last World Cup two years ago
His last deal, with Juventus, came to an end earlier this summer.

I thought we were linked a few weeks back so avoided this story.

I probably have the wrang bloke like.

Dubious about S Americans. We are usually **** out of luck where they are concerned.

But

It kinda makes sense as half the team is ****ing of to africa in jan.

Did Moyes not say the other day there would be no more coming in. I am sure I read that from one of his interviews.

Edit : Sorry I am completely mistaken on this;)

Shame he's fallen off. He was the next big thing at one point and injuries seem to have damaged his career. I'd be happy enough on a short term deal a la kerchoff.
