I would agree, but by the last day we had already sign Mason, so Henriksson was the midfielder we actually signed at the death.

 

I would be surprised if that did not create another 10 pages of inane dribble on this thread.

Just heard rumblings of a possible loan move presuming they meant january

Hull City may have already strengthened their midfield options during the transfer window with the arrival of the likes of Ryan Mason, James Weir and Markus Henriksen, but they're still chasing one more addition according to the Daily Mail.

The Tigers are reportedly interested in former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder Momo Sissoko, although that deal looks unlikely now he has joined West Bromwich Albion on trial.

The 31-year-old is a free agent and the Baggies are taking a look at the player this week after he left Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua at the end of his deal.

Sunderland and City are keeping a close eye on what happens with Sissoko say the Daily Mail.

Sissoko won the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup at Liverpool and is also a La Liga and Ligue 1 winner.

It's only a full list for the PL isn't it? He could play in the league cup while he gets himself up to speed then be registered in Jan.

Not everyone was really impressed by Diame last season. A few here (sometimes the same) are even big Bruce lovers here even though he lost the players at various times. Diame did look great when he started with us, much quicker and more direct. Later though whether because of fitness or attitude or a combination of both he coud look slow, easiy brushed of the ball in some games, and even ball control might not be up to what you'd expect at times.

On the point with backups, I can see your point but practically it may not always be easy to just downgrade a player to backup, some will want to move on. But it is more ideal to arrange it like you say so that backups are already well familiar with our team and we know what they can give us. And younger players that are in our system do seem to waste away, we are even getting youngsters from United now to take their place.

IMHO That squad we had in the 1st year of the prem was ace.
Myhill, Turner, Daws, Geo, King, Garcia, Barmby etc
But this squad is better..

 

IMO half the 2008/09 squad were Championship players.

 

I actually forgot that Barmby played for us in the Premier League. Whenever I think of him in a City shirt it's always lower league.
