Did you say same about sterling when leaving us? Or Scott Sinclair when he left Swansea for city? Or Delph when he left villa for city?
They all stayed in the same league, Sterling probably didn't even need to move house. This lad will be making a much bigger leap which shows a lot more ambition - imo.
Liverpool 'wanted Niklas Sule from Hoffenheim this summer'
Liverpool made enquiries for highly-rated Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule this summer, according to reports in Germany.
The 21-year-old is one of the most highly-rated centre-backs in the Bundesliga, and helped his country to Olympic silver in Rio last month.
Sule, who has one senior cap for the national team, was linked tentatively with the Reds earlier in the summer. But according to a report in Sport Bild this week, the youngster turned down their interest in order to continue his development at Hoffenheim.
“I need my familiar environment and has to constantly play at my level even further,” Sule said, with Sport Bild claiming he rejected offers from Liverpool, Milan, Napoli, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg.
The 6ft 5in centre back is one of a host of promising young German-based stars on Premier League radars.
Liverpool, for example, already have strong interest in Christian Pulisic, the teenage American with Borussia Dortmund.
And according to a report in German publication Express, Jurgen Klopp will send scouts to watch Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud as Germany U21s take on Finland today.
Liverpool chased Dahoud all summer long but were unable to convince Gladbach to sell their young star. The Reds’ interest, though, remains strong, and Express suggests that a January bid for the 20-year-old is not out of the question.
Dahoud is expected to win his fourth U21 cap against Finland in Seinajoki on Tuesday night.

My only problem with him is his dishonesty.
I called scott sinclair a fool cos he was a championship player... same for many others like steve sidwell joining chelsea.
Nobody turns down a pay day they would never ever see normally.
If mr dahoud is the player mooted he can play CL at a host of clubs... scott sinclair was a terrible buy for city. sidwell was a complete joke for cheslea. Graveson going to madrid... bony going to city... etc etc etc.... those are not good examples as they were NEVER getting a pay day like it.
What we are talking about here is you saying he should sign for the munchers and hang round hoping another chance comes along but then potentially get cock locked by the club.
you might as well be saying grujic should have satyed at home for example.
Sterling was right to move out from rogers but did it in a dishonest way by playing completely unprofessionally and imo deliberately missing chances and hiding in games.
who knows... could be anywhere... just cos klopp wants him doesn't mean he's got to come here. he could end up in italy or go to bayern or spain... or city... who knows until it happens.

Gladbach that are currently in the CL? What I'm saying is, he'll prob come to some agreement that sign a new contract with new release clause... So if he does want to go, they get double what they would have got and in mean time he gets a hike in salary. Everyone's a winner. In the mean time he plays CL football this year and regular first team football so even if he doesn't go he's still at a decent team.

Niklas Sule is a real talent - monster of a player. But Jonathan Tah is the one we should be after.

Unlike us who are... Not in the CL and haven't won a think and were temporarily in the top 4.
Suarez did a deal for the benefit of him and his employers, didn't work out too bad for him.
Where have I said he should join us. I have repeatedly stated he could have a host of clubs after him.
Suarez is also a bad example as he'd so many issues that there was only a 40 plus 1 bid we rejected from arsenal and he was basically given a massive pay rise to get rid of a clause that was poorly written for his side too.
It was only after this episode that he scores 31 goals after being on a ban missing 5 games and suddenly the world his his Oyster... then he bites again...
These are not in anyway the same case.... dahoud has run his contract down, he is in the prime position and can go anywhere. The munchers are not going to be in a position to say f you and drop him....
So no he's not like suarez case, so far he's not been a sterling cos he's not been unprofessional.... and he's not like Scott sinclair either.

Why would he be pricing himself out of a move?
If his agent is any good the release clause will be realistic, if he is any good people will pay the asking price.
Depends on release clause doesn't it... if he signs a new deal would it be.. 40mil? Do we think players get to set rates too?
Of course players/agents get a say in the rate, it is in the players favour to have a release clause so the club cant price him out of a move.
£40m is a good price for a top class player now so that wouldn't be a block on him getting a move if he is good enough.
