He seems to like 'elite' football in other countries, and much of that has to be all about money/sponsorship as well. I thought his piece would be about roots and community but that doesn't seem the case.

How can the Spanish league be the best when Real Madrid and Barcelona routinely coast against teams in the bottom half?

I dont know where this myth comes from that the Premier League is the only one where the bottom teams beat the top. We hear it all the time and then it's ignored when a bottom of the league Parma, on it's way to an almost record low-points total, beat Champions League finalists and run away league leaders Juventus.

When the bottom team beats the top in Italy you need to follow the money.

Yeah there is a fair amount of cheating in Italian football , strange results at the end of the season etc.

He's talking out of his arse with regards to the Italian league but he's right about the Premier league and that's why we will stay up comfortably.

I watch an English game & I normally have a team I want to win or a team I don't, I've watched Italian & German games, to me I have no interest in Italian games as I don't care about the teams. The German games pretty much the same but they are pretty good to watch.
Spanish again not really bothered who wins, even though I hate Real Madrid, it's mostly against teams who have no chance that I see them against do Madrid just win again, Barca much the same. But when they play each other only occasionally does the game live up to the hype for me.
Most of the time with the foreign games, I lose interest.
I've watched MLS too & that's more entertaining for me.
The thing that got me about Scholes thing about money, in these other countries it's not as much. Bollocks! What is it in Spain, I read something about most of the money goes to Madrid & Barca!
PSG in France!
Everyone wants money in football, that's why stupid money is involved in transfers!

That's precisely it and exactly why people are bored by foreign football.

Its very rare I watch any football unless Hull City are playing.

There was a time I use to watch every game .

Maybe I have just got bored of commentators telling me what an exiting game I am watching while I sit thinking what a **** game it is.

Love watching City

Not bothered about anyone else including ****ty England

Sadly with regards to England I have to agree. The Iceland performance was the last straw for me.

Paul Scholes doesn't like the Premiership because he doesn't play in it anymore. Why does anyone listen to this dullard? And why has he and his grim friends been given their own TV show?

Ahh, yep - I get it. In England it's competitiveness and sporting endeavor, in Italy it's cheating.

Well there have been enough guilty verdicts in Italian football corruption cases. As you being half-Italian will well know.

"Money has ruined English football, apart from me and mates buying our way through non league"
