    Agree with all of that.
Brilliant interview, brought a little tear to the eye, having had a similar thing happen in the family (no drugs that i know of though!). I still think there is a chance for him with England tbh, if he can get back to his best.

The tiredest show on TV is back

The easily pleased can spend their Saturday nights watching desperate wannabes yell and yodel their way through countless dreary ballads and tacky club anthems by some of the dullest, naffest and cringeworthy pop acts in history

Could you be a little bit more specific? That could be The Voice or The X-Factor.

Thanks and au revoir to the wonderful Gene Wilder. His work with Mel Brooks is a joy forever.

And with Richard Pryor, they were so funny together. Very sad.

Great batting from Hales, Root, Buttler and Morgan - although Root's innings of 85 off 86 balls looks pedestrian compared to the others.

444 off 50 overs with 16 sixes and 43 fours is incredible

I was thinking about all those caps Robbie has received and the I look back.........1 cap for Bill Nick,1 cap for George Robb,1 cap for Harry Clarke....to name just three......and that was just 3 Spurs players playing for England.
They give away caps today like the refs give away red and yellow cards.

1, disgracefully, for Steve Perryman, only 16 for Gary Mabbutt. To be fair, Robbie is lucky that he plays for Republic of Ireland, less competition. Reflects well on him when compared to the likes of Ryan Giggs who was miraculously injured every time a Wales friendly came up.

I agree with you overall, but I don't think that Keane's a great example of it, to be honest.
He's arguably Ireland's best player of all time and easily the top forward.
Won his first cap when he was just 18, following a very successful run in the youth sides, including winning the U18 Euros.

If I was hopelessly incompetent at my job I'd be fired.
Southern are hopelessly incompetent at their job, and the government just gave them £20m of taxpayer's money.

I'm not sure. Soldado's comment doesn't surprise me, but Gomes left under a bit of a cloud.
Spotted this on the Brazilian's feed, though:

3 ex-players and no current ones in the Team of the Week! <laugh>
