I think this Barton still has a chance/can build bridges is an attempt to stimulate a club who was considering to buy.

Think about it...a club is interested but is dily dallying around. They hear that they miss out on an opportunity as Barton may still have a chance and thus are rushed into making a decision. Getting a good quality player on a free is to good to be true so they register interest instantly....

That is what I think is happening.

I thought it was an ok interview under difficult circumstances, I'd like Barton to stay he's been naive and thoughtless at times with regards twitter, but I hope he can find an amicable way back. With regards the clubs stance, they've been hasty offering Barton on a free transfer hopefully they are now realising other options are available.

Aye. Twice. Doesn't bother me, it's just pure irony leaving notes and not signing them!

I do like the bit about "what happens in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room" I'm old fashioned and like this kind of stuff. When everyone on here was getting excited the other day calling Barton all the names under the sun, saying he was disrupting the dressing room, I had a feeling it would just be a normal dressing room incident when you play badly. This from Pardew suggests as much.

lies, lies, lies, barton will leave and no replacement, there will be no striker and enrique will leave. Come on lads most of us must have half a brain and realise that. A couple of free signings last month had people creamin their pants, ashley is laughin at us.

I like Pardew. He's articulate and measured in what he says and calm in his delivery. Makes a lovely change from the s hite and bile thrown around on here at times in the guise of communication.

Its nice for someone at the club to have a bit of dignity I think.
