Apparently Tan has the final say on all deals. He's 7 hours ahead of us, so hopefully he's having an early start!!

But no new keeper unless there's one out there out of contract. Let's hope Amos and Wildon keep fit otherwise Connelly will be my bet for stand in keeper!

If he doesn't do well in league one then maybe a change of career for the lad. Useless in the Championship, maybe a league lower will prove his comfort zone?

Just reading WOL's summary of our business this window. There's been a major overhaul with most, if not all, of the major historical issues sorted. Even Velikonja is gone!
The quality (or lack of) for the new signings waits to be seen. I'm sure wage wise our liability is massively reduced compared to where we were in May. I know we're all sore we lost players like Fabio and Marshall but if we've received £6m odd and saved the big wages on a full back/keeper there's logic there if nothing else.

We needed a goal scorer, I doubt there were many options available to us as proven as Lambert. If he didn't want to bother anymore he could have sat on Brom's bench. I seriously doubt he's better off for moving here. His comments about just wanting to score goals and be depended on to do so are very reassuring.

Hopefully Bennet can provide us with a bit of pace and threat in a similar way to Harris has.

I've been very negative about what I've seen at the CCS so far this season but new coach, players, style means it'll probably take a while for everything to blend. Hopefully Lambert will bag a couple to stave off the boredom whilst everything else beds in.

I hope you're right Stevo. However, to place our hopes on a 34 year old who has hardly started a game or scored for 2 years is a very big ask. I would have liked to seen us sign Blackman as well to give some younger, faster legs and an alternative style.

Agreed, the historical deadwood has gone (didn't anyone want Manga?) and the wage bill slashed - although Lambert will be on a good wage - last move before retirement. Whether or not Lambert is a success very much depends on the service he receives. He will not create much on his own. Over to you midfield and wing backs to provide the ammunition.

I'd have loved to have seen Blackman sign but he was always probably going to be too expensive. I'm sure Manga would have been offloaded if there'd be any interest. I'm not surprised there was no interest though.
For the record in no way am I saying I think this set up will work. I've been gutted with the start I've seen from Trollope and his chosen side. Just that hopefully there might be hope.....!

We'll have to manage Lambert's 34 year old body, he's not going to do 90mins Tues/Sat/Tues, but we've got players to take the burden of him in terms of running/minutes. Hopefully he can take do the bit every other player we have seems so incapable of in return <ok>

Disappointed to read that Healey has gone on loan to Newport. I'd prefer him to Zahore or Fred all day long.

Oh and on the Lambert signing, hopefully it will allow Pilks & Immers to play in their most effective positions.

Here, have two for your cheek. <rose><rose>

Damn, I knew it was a mistake sending aber roses. He's usually grateful to receive a bag of soggy chips.

Sparkey will want one now, I suppose.

You might have something there Ninian. Healey could have been Lambert's legs, closing down and pressing defences to give Lambert more time and room. Let's see how he does at Newport.

Please take this to grindr chaps.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of like minded gentlemen there. <yikes>

You may even come across Masky, figuratively and actually. <whistle>
