Good luck to Mmmbop linking up with Snoddy at Hull.
And Hull haven't even got a permanent gaffer in charge yet they still do the biz! <doh>

Yes KIO, I would have liked to have those 2 gone as well, especially Naismith, as they must both be on sizeable salaries and I'm certain as long as AN is our manager, Naismith will be the first name on the team sheet. Let's just hope that Pritchard will be fit enough to at least be on the bench for Cardiff and perhaps even start against Wigan.
It will be interesting if AN actually tries to defend his decision to allow Maddison to go out on loan and also his inability to get any more signings in.

Edit - sensible words from Maddison on his loan to Aberdeen (they are the 3rd biggest club in the SPL) and at last he'll be playing regularly - “I had offers from League One clubs but I think I have already ticked that box. Coming to a club the size of Aberdeen is good for me,” he said. “I had a chat with Steven Whittaker and some of the Scottish lads here about Aberdeen and Scottish football in general and they all spoke very well and the manager as well of course gave me his opinion. He told me to just come and play my football. It is a chance to get some first team experience in a different environment.”

Don't you recall after the Wembley play-off final and he was meant to be strengthening ready for a tilt at the PL and we desperately needed a CB? We failed to get anyone in until Klose in Jan and AN said "I was comfortable going in to the season with (erratic) Bassong, (injury prone) Bennett and out-of-position Martin! Do me a firkin favour - and the results of the board's negligence then virtually assure us of a long, hard slog in the second tier for the foreseeable future <wah>

Yes, on a caretaker basis for the time being.

Yes and we have to ask ourselves why don't players want to come to Norwich and as much as I joke about our location, I'm sure a lot has to do with the fact that AN doesn't always want to play players in their preferred position!!! <doh>
I'm also trying to recall the last time a team scored because of their skill as opposed to one or more errors by our leaky defence!! <yikes>

Taken in isolation, the business we have done looks quite good. Kept hold of key players and added some talent.

However this hasn't been carried out in isolation, it's occurred alongside rival teams doing good deals, some strengthening significantly. And our dealings have been accompanied by sound bites from the club about how we'll definitely be signing two more players.

Other than Maddison leaving on loan, what we've done is reasonable. Its what we clearly haven't done which is so disappointing.

    Reality check

    Mbokani wanted EPL
Rhodes is a dressing room disaster
We were never in the frame for Valencia
McCormack too old, too short, too expensive and Mrs wasn't keen on Norfolk
    Assombalonga made of glass
    Sinclair wouldn't drop a league
Toffo and Madz not strong enough and would never have played, the loan outs are spot on.
Oliveira, Pritchard and Canos are fantastic signings

Not really seeing the doom and gloom other than we should have shipped out a few more.

Well, after that debacle, I certainly don't see us challenging for promotion any time soon and I'm off out for the day.
As one fan put it on the EDP website, what happened "to the pre season hype of ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ???" Oh, probably spoken by the same person who clearly stated that Maddison wouldn't be going out on loan!!!! <doh>
    I'll be back later

We needed 2 strikers and got only one. I'd rather have had N'Doye on loan and Lafferty (only because he wont play) out of the door. At least N'Doye would have been another option up top rather than playing Naismith there on his own!

Good points DH. Canos looks the part and I've always wanted Pritchard at the club. Not sure about Oliveira so will be good to see what he can do. Holding onto Klose, Brady and Pinto were essential and we did that BUT ........

We missed the opportunity to clear out some dead wood (Whittaker, Turner) and we are now holding onto players who don't want to be here (Lafferty, Naismith) while missing out on targets that our competitors have snaffled up and thus strengthened their squads with.

Is our squad stronger than at the start of the window = yes, is is as strong as it could be = probably not, are the squads at Wolves, Villa, Newcastle etc stronger = most definitely. That's the reality (Sir Talking Donkey) ......

Doesn´t matter where I live KIO, it´s our fine city itself that lives out in the sticks, and that will appeal to some players, Howson for example who likes his fishing, but it will also turn just as many away. For many players, we´re not the finished article, we´re only a stepping stone to get to the finished article, which puts us in a league with loads of other clubs, where city placement then plays a part.

Norwich is not part of a pulsating football conurbation, it lies in a sleepy, laid-back backwater, which would suit me, because I´m sleepy and laid-back myself, but it´s not everyone´s cup of tea.
