I meant last season. And why would Kiev keep letting an ageing player out on loan? Must be paying him too much and trying to claw some back, only plausible explanation I can think of.
Yeah must be a wages issue for them. I'd assume Norwich also had option to buy and the hope was they'd stay up and buy him.
We look a lot more secure than we did. We just need to stay in the fight and then in Jan when we as a club are settled we can reassess and bring in other players to see us safe.
Chuffed with the business done over the last two days, shame we didn`t start til late, would have allowed us to get extra in for defensive cover, but given the state of the squad after the Man Utd game I`ll settle for this. Going bed now, have fun people.
Well I'm quite happy now when this is confirmed ... a mixed bag of signings that should fit into our jigsaw.
Just realised diomande and henriksen probably know each other what a great window. Biggest Concern was getting bulk players and disrupting the harmony and team spirit that seems strong at the minute. But bar Mbokani , every sign seems to link up in one way another to the current team, past manager links, past teammate links, linguistic links, national team links. Well done to those involved. Assuming the Chinese are involved, well done to them but I mainly feel as though this is Phelan's doing.
Just looked and Kiev spent almost £10m on him, he played 25 games first season, 8 the next pointing to him falling out of favour. Don't know if he got injured (no obvious google results) or if Kiev made another bigger signing who took his place. No idea how long he's under contract but this would be his fourth year, must be a cost cutting exercise or else he's a massive **** they just want away from their club at all costs.
