Don't overlook Murphy and Canos, as we appear to have a passion for putting the wrong pegs in the wrong holes

 

Whatever else happens I am hugely disappointed about Maddison being sent out on loan.

I have lost a lot of trust in AN because of that.

 

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed, but I guess the truth is he'd be hard pressed to get a place on the bench, let alone the starting 11, so maybe a few weeks game time will help him demonstrate what he can do.

We sold Redmond for £11m and look to be keeping hold of big Tim Olsson and Brady.
Pritchard is an expensive gamble and we bought Nelson who may turn out to be brilliant.

 

That's an interesting one. Apparently Canos has played as a striker before and Murphy is listed on the Official site as an AM/Striker. It could be that AN is thinking in that direction in terms of a pacey, mobile option up front, but then I was never very good at all that pegs in holes sort of stuff!

Yes, could well be - I think the biggest issue is without Jerome in the team, can we hold the ball up well enough to get out attacking midfielders into the game.

That will be the test with Oliveira, Dorset. It would seem that AN doesn't have much confidence in Lafferty in that regard, but I'd hope that signing Nelson means that he will be able to play that role.

Oh well, at least Maddison has gone to the team I supported as a child and followed them all the way to the Cup final in '67. I suppose he'll come up against half decent opponents in Rangers and Celtic, though not too sure about the other teams in the SPL.

 

Mbokani to Hull confirmed. Shame, he'd have been excellent in the Championship.

I thought we would be one of the strongest sides this season with a few recruits in.
Now I'm hoping top 6 at best Jerome was terrible last season and he's our main threat and if Klose gets injured we have the same frustrating clowns waiting to come on and balls it all up .
We had funds to at least get a really good striker in and we didn't.
We are the architects of our own demise.
