Stoke City are close to finalising the loan of Wilfried Bony. The Manchester City striker is poised to join for a £2million loan fee with Stoke paying his £120,000 a week wages.
The Ay-rabs never wanted Hughes, he was a Shinawatra appointment, after they dumped Sven. He made some good and some not so good signings, the most important being Vincent Kompany. Also Tevez, and Zabaleta... all had a big part to play in them being where they are now. I think he's a good tactician, I just think he isn't a very good man-manager, for some reason he seems to give me that impression, his dull face just fails to inspire.
Lets hope there are one or two more to add to the first part of that list. I'd hope we'd be looking to bring a striker in on top of that at least.
Sunderland manager David Moyes is reportedly ready to make a deadline day move to seal the transfer of Florentin Pogba, brother of Manchester United star Paul Pogba. The 26-year-old is not a big name in the same league as United’s £89million summer signing, but could be a useful addition for the Black Cats in their bid to escape relegation this season. A strong and imposing centre-back, Pogba has been a reliable performer for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 over the years, and has 13 caps for the Guinea national team. According to The Sun, Moyes hopes he can bring the player to the Stadium of Light for around £6.5m before tonight’s transfer deadline. FFS

Everton's £20million move for Lamine Kone may depend on Sunderland landing Mamadou Sakho. David Moyes won't let the Ivory Coast star join his former club without bringing in a replacement on deadline day. Everton are hoping former manager David Moyes signs Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho - so they can land £20million Ivory Coast defender Lamine Kone. Ronald Koeman wants to take Kone to Goodison from Sunderland. But he has already seen an £18million bid rejected and Black Cats boss Moyes has insisted the centre back would not leave unless he had a replacement. Now Everton are hoping Sunderland can push through a deal for Liverpool outcast Sakho so they can secure a deadline day move for Kone. According to the Liverpool Echo, 26-year-old Sakho has emerged as a loan target for Sunderland. But, having already turned down Stoke City and West Brom, there are concerns whether the France international would agree to a move to the Premier League strugglers. Should Sakho agree to a move to the Stadium of Light then it should boost Everton’s chances of signing Kone. The Blues lodged an £18m bid for the defender, who has played six times for the Ivory Coast, earlier this month and are now ready to increase that offer to £20m. But their hopes of landing the 27-year-old have always hinged on Sunderland being able to fill the void.
