In other news, I see that Gnabry is on the cusp of joining Bayern Munich. Very disappointing that we've struggled to keep hold of him, but when Bayern come calling, is there really much you can do? As mentioned by Bear, it's a bit annoying that we've given Chamberlain and Walcott countless chances and they have struggled to deliver consistently, yet we've not provided that same time to Campbell (farcical that he's been loaned out again) and Gnabry. If he does go, I wish him the best of luck. Shame he couldn't fulfill his potential with us.
Personally I'd like to see wilshere go abroad, experience a different style of football and a different training method. I agree that he's probably not going to get huge amounts of gametime at juve but somewhere else would be good. Shocking if we let Gnarby go. It'll be a big, big loss - particularly with oxo and theo underperforming
We should be doing a Chelsea and loaning these players to mid table clubs in the prem with clauses not to play against us.
Wenger also messed up by sending him on loan to a ****ing Tony Pulis team, I mean, seriously, why on earth did he think that a numpty like Pulis would be able to help develop a young attacking player? So, he basically wasted a year, that plus Chamberlain and Walcott getting chance after chance, despite being ****, has clearly left Gnabry feeling like he is not wanted at Arsenal, a massive shame.
Could work, but Wilshere will probably run into Kante and be ruled out for the rest of the season. But seriously, I think Wilshere needs to move abroad, because he needs to learn about the tactical side of the game, right now he just blindly runs into players like a moron, he needs to go and learn a fixed posistion.
I can't help thinking that the reason that some arsenal fans are so down on Chamberlain and Walcott is because they bigged them up to much when they were young and the club compounded this by massively over paying them. Arsenal FC and many of their fans used to go ape **** when Walcott was accused of not having a football brain but now seem to think he's ****. The truth is that both are good players but nowhere as good as many hyped them up to be...imo that is.
Welcome to the English media hype train. The same can be said about almost every English player, they are good but not as good as the media leads the public to believe. The bottom line is we need to loan Wilshere out to a club that will actually play him, we can't afford for him to warm the bench and come on as an occasional sub. The truth is, his level is a lot lower than what people think he is. He is max mid to lower level Premiership quality. The same thing goes for all our English players, but the hype train big them up to levels that was unrealistic. The reality is, NO English player gets on the team sheet when everyone is fit for Arsenal.
Overhyping English players sickens me. Anyway, Holding for future England captain and best U21 defender in the world??
Yeah I know. I'm an optimist but.. I used to work as a Strength and Conditioning coach and our constant mis-managing of our injury prone players is one of the things that upsets me the most about Wenger. I'm a fan of Wilshere (I know your not - but thats another debate), I think if he had been fit for the last few Seasons he would have developed into a truly great player. As it is he is still on the same level he was when he was 19-20. Imagine if RVP had sorted his injury problems 3-4 Seasons earlier. (we may have had several 30+ goals Seasons from him and not just the one) Rosicky too. Both of these players could have contributed soo much more than they actually did. I have several theories on all this (as to why it happened) but the fact he doesn't change his approach just blows my mind.
Debatable. Holding is already ahead of Chambers and Gabriel IMO. He's a better size than Mustafi and at the rate he is developing I wouldn't be surprised if he forces his way into our first choice line-up. Wellback may well be our best option on the right.
We spoke about over hyping English players and you've just done that with Holding. We can only see if a player is good enough over 2 seasons at least, especially when you're playing at the highest level with Arsenal. As for Welbeck being our best option on the right, you're probably right as we don't have anyone remotely competent that can play there and we can't clone Sanchez. Maybe Iwobi can do something.
Saying Welbeck is our best RWF is like saying my turd is the best one lurking in the sewers of Berkshire.
For some reason I thought Welbeck only played on the Left or Centre like Iwobi... I think we need to give Holding a lot more time than 3 games before making a judgement on him - remember Jenks and Chambers burst on the scene then faded away. At the end of the season/start of next would be a good time to asses him - especially if he does so well that we sell Merts and don't replace him.
Bit Harsh. He's a good player. Not World Class but a great athlete, Ok technically (better than Walcott) and very hardworking. Fully fit he'd be our best option in that position. Chambo cant score or assist, Walcott cant pass and Joel Campbell is in Spain. : \ I guess we could play Iwobi there but its not really his position.
I haven't hyped him really. I said he's ahead of Chambers (who's about to go on loan) and Gabriel (who hasn't made the best of starts at Arsenal) and that he's a better size than Mustafi...which he is.
5million euros for Gnabry? We suck at selling players! http://www.101greatgoals.com/news/werder-bremen-agree-e5m-deal-bonuses-arsenal-serge-gnabry-bild/
