I would have thought that was obvious as the death penalty was mostly abolished in 1965 - unless you wanted to set fire to one of HM shipyards, or something....

In 1967 homosexuality ceased to be illegal.

It was 1998 for treason, when we leave the EU, hope they bring that back same for mass Murder and ****'s (as long as evidence it totally fool proof)

Ever read Leviticus?

Or Psalm 18 perhaps?

I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

You should try reading the bible mate. You might learn something. Many an ignorant man has come to scoff but remained to pray.

Old, New Testament and Quran are full of kill your enemies, written many years ago, we as people have evolved and take such things as a pinch of salt, but some people take it literally.

I think that was my point. Most Christians and Jews read the Bible and the Torah in context. The more spiritualy inclined pray and meditate on specific passages, discuss their meaning with learned men and women, & ultimately seek divine guidance.

Your mate seems to have picked through the Quran with the express purpose of seeking bits to quote out of context in order to suit his arguments. In other words, he approached his subject with a closed mind. It is possible to do the same with the bible. Only an ignorant man would do that though.

A bit like you and your chums have done with the reasons the winners voted for Brexit. Loads of childish accusations mixed in with pathetic insults made from the safety of your bedroom.

So you think the minute we leave we'll be rushing to re-instate it?

There's only 1 country in Europe that still has it iirc.

It's barbaric and has no place in a modern society - the end.

In general I agree with you, but we do have a few that should hang or at least the threat they may be hung.

No we simply don't.

Capital punishment will never return to our society and rightly so.

You know, if it was one of my kids, or something, I'd feel like pulling the lever myself!

But then, what if the old bill have got it wrong - again!? What if the guy I'm
topping is innocent?

One mistake is one too many. End of!..

The death penalty is driven by the desire for retribution

Incarceration ensures that they can't repeat offend, and a life sentence in a cell is in my book a greater retribution anyway.

Only if Parliament vote to bring it back, which is highly unlikely
Kustard, it could happen. Your hero Trump could win the US election, invade the UK, install Pete as PM and you as Home Secretary and then you could impose the death sentence for all murderers, *****philes, Muslims and Romanians. Something for you to look forward to while you design those paper aeroplanes.

Oh, I recognise that. It would definitely be a feeling of wanting to kill the ****! It's a powerful emotion, especially when it concerns kids.

If it's whole life, ok. No parole, no commuting.
