I think Sam will be a good England manager - he`ll get you more difficult to beat, and provide a stable base for the more skilful players to perform from.

No one could be a worse choice than Roy Hodgson. The guy is/was ****ing atrocious.

Must say, I'm looking forward to the Nations League competition replacing international friendlies in a couple years. At least then it will feel like something is being accomplished during these two-week breaks, even if that something involves England getting relegated.

I forgot about this when does it start?

Also what time is this squad due to be announced?

If the lineup is to be picked on form, from that squad I would go for:

Heaton

Clyne Stones Cahill Shaw

Dier Drinkwater

Antonio Rooney Sterling

Vardy

I'd have lallana in personally, over Antonio. But as its only Slovakia I guess giving Antonio a run out would be quite nice.

Six former Saints in the England squad. Who'd have thunk

Six? Who am I missing? I only see four. Lallana, Walcott, Shaw and Clyne

Edit: Oh Five Antonio!!

Antonio, however I was including Forster in the number. Should have said former and current players. My bad. Big case for Bertrand to be in the squad as well when he returns!

If I'm not mistaken, nine players who have donned a Saints jersey have been called up to the national team within the past twelve months.

Bertrand and, I presume, Chamberlain. But I'm struggling on the 9th name.

I'm suggesting no's for Rickie, Jay, Chambers, Crouch, Caulker, Austin (all more than 12 months ago), JWP, Cork and Puncheon (all never been called up).

Really, really impressive. (Also heartbreaking in some ways.)
Info like that makes me even more annoyed at fans that moan about everything saints related on Twitter etc.. They can't have been there during the relegation seasons. Otherwise they would understand just how far we have come. Imagine saints at the San Siro. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

.

I worded it to include Danny Ings. Surely, his brief time as a kid before being released shaped him into an England international, right?

"Only" Slovakia? Didn't we recently cock up using that thought?

Is your full name Roy Osvaldorama?
