Jakupovic has developed well over the past three years - he looked fitter and stronger last year and did very well (exceptionally well in one or two very big games). This season he's continued in the same way and appears to be gaining confidence. Yes he is capable of the occasional howler but that goes with the territory - "Calamity" James was probably the supreme example of a fabulous goalkeeper whose performances gained more points for teams than his mistakes ever cost. I think that, on balance, he has earned the right to "first choice" status.

For some reason I just remembered when I was waiting for the players coming out from the Sunderland game (0-2, Jela and Long scored), and telling a kid who each player was as they came out, and George Boyd walked out and I thought it was Jak. <laugh>

He did well. There was that point where he came out and was beaten to it by an outstretched foot of the striker. Most goalkeepers would be tentative in that situation.

This needs bumping. The absolute pride and joy on his face when he tipped a late Rashford shot wide just shows what a brilliant personality he is.

He always looks pumped up and excited, I like him
(And by the way when the ball went into the crowd late on he was asking for it to be slowed down by the crowd. Idiots ignored him and North and East crowd rushing to throw it back onto the pitch quickly cost us a point IMHO)

I liked the way he was trying to get the crowd not to through the ball back quickly. In fact, after Meyler's shot into the south stand, they should have held onto the ball a bit longer, help take the sting out of the game.

Exactly my point
There were three obvious moments to do that
One in North when he was asking for it to be slowed down and was ignored, one in East when it went into the crowd and someone rushed out of their seat to throw it to Man U for their throw in (!) and the Meyler shot as you say
Naive
In that situation simply put the ball on the floor wherever it is and let the ball boy climb over to get/find it

Different situations require different responses of course!

He is definitely a great character - he obviously loves to play in the big games and his enthusiasm is infectious. He's been an excellent acquisition after a slow start.
