We are desperate for a forward mate this is one time id be ok with a loan move. Mean we couldn't sign Hart as well which id welcome not right on Pickford.
Don't you think we need an out and out striker though? Forwards we have: Borini, Khazri, Lens, Januzaj, Watmore. Do we need another one? I just don't like loans, I can see the sense in a loan for Hart with Manones injury, I think it would be good for Pickford who should become our no.1 for next season
He can play as a striker mate, did for Burnley and often has for Saints. If we can't get someone in then we need something, all that you have listed bar Borini are far more midfield than attack for me, Jay is more of a forward in my eyes. I very much doubt it'll happen anyway, he played today they clearly plan on using him, they are also short up top.
Forward - Striker. Both the same to me. Borini, Khazri, Lens, Januzaj and Watmore, I just class them as our wide players. Interesting debate. Out of the above 5 players, which two would people start, at the moment? I'd go Borini and Lens.
I'm a huge fan of Borini mate, not ability as such but he grinds people down, he wears them out and he is full of heart. I'd always play him. Khazri would play for me as well he's a bit of magic about him, he can do something from nowhere, despite being a chubster.
Everton and Republic of Ireland midfielder James McCarthy, 25, has told club officials he wants to leave to find more regular football. (Mail on Sunday) Maybe our supposed interest in him has got something moving.
This from Goal.com (USA) Midfield Likely selections- Michael Bradley, Gyasi Zardes, Alejandro Bedoya, Darlington Nagbe, Perry Kitchen, Christian Pulisic, Lynden Gooch. Will Klinsmann call in Gooch and get a closer look at him? Gooch told Goal USA that he wants to play for the U.S., but sounds open to other options depending on the circumstances (he is eligible to play for England and Ireland). Given the relative dearth of wing options, Klinsmann would be foolish to miss a chance to bring Gooch into camp and have a closer look at him. P.S. I think Newcastle are interested in McCarthy as well.
Sunderland are reportedly in the hunt for Benfica midfielder Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez. The Moroccan international is not part of the first-team plans in the Portuguese capital and the club are in talks with Spanish side Granada about a move, but Sunderland are set to make a move as well and have the financial firepower to win the race.
Everton plan to fund Hart bid by selling Joel Robles to Sunderland Everton’s Joel Robles could move to Sunderland in order to fund a deal for Manchester City’s Joe Hart. please log in to view this image According to The Sun, Everton will try to sell Joel Robles to Sunderland in order to help fund a deal for Manchester City outcast Joe Hart. The report claims the Toffees will make a new bid for Hart in the coming days while trying to find a buyer for Robles, identifying Sunderland as a likely candidate in order to sweeten a deal for Lamine Kone. England international Hart has seen his first-team prospects at City shattered by the arrival of Claudio Bravo and it appears Blues manager Pep Guardiola is happy for the shot-stopper to depart the Etihad Stadium this summer. please log in to view this image It will be a shock to the system for Hart considering his position for both club and country over the past few years, yet Everton are offering him an escape route and it is arguably one of great temptation. Everton boss Ronald Koeman, however, has already brought in goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg this summer and any deal for Hart would leave him with a surplus of shot-stoppers. Sunderland, on the other hand, are short on goalkeepers having lost Vito Mannone to injury, leaving boss David Moyes with only a few days to bring in a suitable number one to compete with Jordan Pickford. please log in to view this image The Black Cats’ situation has seemingly alerted Everton as they bid to remove Robles from the wage bill in order to help fund a deal for Hart, with the Toffees valuing the player at £6 million. The report goes on to say that Everton would prefer a loan deal for Hart, although City are not quite so keen on the idea with his reported £175,000 per week contract potentially providing a stumbling block.
I can't see us paying 6m. I definitely can't see is selling Kone now, they would have done it weeks ago so they had time to spend the money. By the time he got to Everton and did a medical and personal terms we would have about 24hours to spend the money. Stranger things have happened I suppose. I predict we will loan a keeper and buy a midfielder, striker and CB. Then Mvila will come either now or in Jan.
Robles is absolute cack. Rather sign no one than him. And yeah, Everton can do one if they think any deal is a sweetner for Kone.
Asamoah Gyan flies into UK with loan deal to English club close By Sky Sports News HQ | Last Updated: 28/08/16 1:05pm please log in to view this image Asamoah Gyan has been playing for Shanghai SIPG since last year Asamoah Gyan has flown into the south-east of England on Sunday to evaluate a number of offers from English clubs. Sky Bet Fulham v Birmingham Fulham 11/10 Draw 23/10 Birmingham 23/10 Football Betting £10 Completely Free The 30-year-old Ghana striker is the subject of interest from Sunderland, Fulham and several other Championship sides over a season-long loan from Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG. Gyan, who spent two years at Sunderland until a move to UAE club Al Ain in 2012, says he is back to prove himself in England and will not necessarily choose the Premier League over the Championship. He told Sky Sports News HQ: "I have a lot of options. Me and my agent are here to evaluate them and get the work done, and then I can continue doing what I do best, which is scoring goals and playing well. "I am confident I will have a club in England. There are good options to think about, so we had to fly in quickly. Me being in England means there is something concrete, so we need to evaluate the options and do the work. "I heard about Sunderland and Fulham but we will see what happens. There might be surprises. Football is full of them. The people around me are trying to benefit me. It doesn't matter if it is Championship or Premier league, it's about being comfortable where I am. "Sunderland is a good club. It was unfortunate I didn't play for many years there. I had to leave and that is football. Sometimes you stay for a long time at a club and then other times you go. I just want to prove myself again in England. I am ready to go. "I went to the Middle East but I was scoring goals for the national team and in the world cup. I don't regret it at all and now I am back to prove myself again. Maybe it is my destiny to be back to the Premier League or the Championship. "Maybe we will make a decision tonight, or tomorrow."
As much as I wished he had stayed first time around he is not what we need, shame though he is great to watch, but no Defoe.
There was a thread about him somewhere but couldn't find it (couldn't be arsed to) so chucked it on here. Said it on that one, he can **** off back to the desert playing in his mickey mouse league.
Loose translation 'there's no Premier League London club looking for a ****cunt, so as I've banked millions I'll gladly drag myself half arsed around the lower leagues as long as there's good shopping and nightlife'. Should have been a star the lad, he was more than a striker he was a good, good footballer.
