I only watched him 3-4 times last Season. Just watching a few La Liga games on the weekend. Just know that he had a good Season last year. He was being hyped up by the commentary team. But like i said he's only really had one decent Season and is 27. Potential is there but that's all it is at this point.
He's going to be 28 in a couple of weeks, so he's no spring chicken. 17 goals is the highest he's scored in his career to date and although people in Spain have high opinions of him based on last season, I don't see how he would make us title contenders with such an average goalscoring record overall. I saw some clips of him on YouTube and truthfully, he does look like quite a handful to deal with. But that's not saying much, as YouTube makes anyone look good. If we're going to sign a striker from Spain who has potential to improve, Paco Alcacer from Valencia would have been a good option, in my opinion. But if we're still looking to get Mustafi, it's highly unlikely they'll also sell us their best forward so late in the window. What an absolute mess we've gotten ourselves into.
According to the AST 'Arsenal have £96 million available for transfers.Of this £40million has been put aside for a centre half also we have already spent £30 million + on Xhaka and Holding. If the £96 million is anywhere hear true it doesn't give us a hell of a lot of money on a forward
....initially I wanted to share a sanogo video but he actually looks crap on the highlight video too!
I have to say. Having been linked with Lacazette, Higuain, Benzema, Griezmann and a few others, it's an anti-climax to now be finalising a deal for Lucas Perez - a player I hadn't even heard of until a few days ago when I saw on the BBC that Everton wanted to sign him. Just seems like we're rummaging in the bargain bucket again. Should he come, I still hope he can do well for us - I just wish he was a few years younger because at the age of 28 (which he will be soon) I can't envisage him getting much better than he is now. I'm not convinced by him personally, but I hope he proves to be an effective signing for us.
I don't know anything about him. But I do know we can't rely on Giroud up front all season, so the addition is welcome. We'll just have to wait and see whether he turns out to be more Henry than Jeffers
Hold your horses.....bid has been rejected. http://www.101greatgoals.com/top-st...7m-lucas-perez-rejected-deportivo-cadena-ser/
Doesn't this signing go against everything Wenger's been saying? That he'll only guy someone better than what he's currently got?
Would be a weird deal and I would prefer Lacazette. However .. Perez could be one of those smart Wenger signings. (a Koscielny if you will) The thing is he is quick, technically very good, not too small and is hardworking. If Wenger can get him playing with confidence he could surprise everyone. Of course the potential for another Francis Jeffers type situation is there as well.
Another bargain bin signing. This reminds me of when all our signings from '05-'12 were less than £10 while the big clubs were spending £20-30. Same idea in 2016 except replace £10m with £20 and £20-30 with £50-60... not that this is a bad signing, he might turn out to be worth much more. However, wouldn't it have been miles better and less of a gamble to just splash the cash on Griezmann...
Talk ****e saying it's done and the stumbling block had been Arsenal wanting to pay in installments. Apparently we have now agreed to pay £17m up front and in full. Any forward signing is better than nothing, unless it's another Sonogoals.
Is any forward really better than none? Would having two Girouds make us stronger? If we're rotating Giroud with another donkey who scores a brace every 6 games is that really beneficial for us?
Good read. Thanks for posting. I think one of the best points in there is how he can link up with giroud who loves to feed a quick attacker making runs into the box. He's not a griezmann or a lacazette but it could turn out to be a really astute signing.
