Claude: "José is an important player for the team but also for the fans because they like José and they like the personality of José and his work with Southampton is not finished because we've got good opportunities for the European Cup and the Premier League and for me, it's very important to keep José. And he's okay with this. He had a good discussion with the director and the chairman and now, all is okay. The fans can be happy because José is staying."

Claude laughs as the Boufal question finally comes up after several questions. He draws a circle on the table with his finger and laughs, saying 'all these questions to get to this question'.

He goes on to say Boufal has not signed yet and we will see what happens before the deadline.

Both the board and Fonte deserve credit if true. The board for staying strong and Fonte for accepting he won't go.

Nah the board are weak and actively try to get rid of our best players. I bet they're only signing Boufal so we can sell him to Liverpool for £30m next summer, allowing Katharina to buy herself a new holiday home with the profit.

You forgot the 'fat' Kat part, you know to make her seem even worse.

    Absolutely.

With Jose, it's all about the message; what he means to the club, what the club means to him. He's a talisman for the club. And he's a professional.

If he still goes, all that changes of course. But I never thought he would in the end. No public strops or obvious manouvering from our Jose, so any disappointment he feels at not linking up with nasty Jose will soon be put to one side I'm sure.

I have never posted so, but I have to be honest and admit that I was bracing myself. I believed he was going. Quickly let's skip to next Thursday morning please and he is still here :)

When we get to end of next week and he is still here, big, big Kudos to him and the club.

I am surprised at that. The French winger deal must nor be happening for them and I just don't think Zaha is "next level" for them.

I would have done it over the phone, instead of looking at Pardew's face.

Tbh I'd have him back here on a permanent. He's still young and can play CB/RB, he did a really good job whenever Clyne was unavailable and there were spells he kept Clyne out of the team.

I really don't think Cedric has what it takes to be a PL RB, apart from his pace I don't see an area he's particularly strong in.

Zahas finally ball is worse than Walcott's , but theo has learnt the skill of passing , zaha tries to do it all on his own, greedy prick.

Having said that if they can get him on the cheap hell be ok as a squad player, can't imagine him starting any games though

I like Zaha alot - genuine match winner on his day, and unplayable when on form. Pochettino is good with young players.
