If you remember the Wanyama one that well you will recall it was an appalling back pass from Brady which put him under pressure that he could only hoof the ball upfield. He got the blame but it wasn't his fault.
And a week later I'm sure I saw a game where a similar clearance was made, but the midfielder who latched onto the shot blazed completely wide.
But as you charitably omitted Syd that was by the "faultless" McGregor who repeated his Lokeren howler which cost us our place in Europe and whose persistent fumbles and other errors cost us several points in our relegation season. Strange how some on this board have developed amnesia about the latters constant inability to handle long shots and allow innocuous attempts to roll under his body or into the corners due to his slowness in getting across, but have photographic memories about Jakupovich purported mistakes????? Jak has made the all-Europe team twice already this season, but no doubt his first fumble will be greeted with the usual nonsense from OLM and his fellow detractors on here.
Always a chance of that happening to any keeper. I'd question his powers of recovery if it happened again.
You can't say that! The received line among the negative ****s on here is that SB, and SB only, carries the can for that because of his team selection.
I remember this discussion too! The goalie could have acted in a different way so I still lay the blame for him, if he can't control the back pass.
I'm not knocking Jak now by the way just saying initially he was a liablity and it was right to say so at the time, unless you are a 1979 head in the sand everything is great merchant that is of course. I see he is still making those comments or trying to..
He was stitched up by Brady in that game, the back pass was terrible and even though he could have kicked it out for a throw, he didn't know he was going to make a mistake and therefore didn't try to put it into touch. As for City Man, he sets a very strange set of rules for being a football fan, namely; don't question the manager, don't discuss any tactics or potential signings you'd like to see unless you have a uefa pro license and definitely don't discuss anything non-city related on this Hull City supporters board. Those nights in the pub after the game must just fly by with all the colourful discussion (well, with no negativity presumably they're just people taking turns saying statements).
People say he had a "mare" at the Wed game - it was nothing of the sort . Jak feigned injury because of a lack of bottle or embarrassment. As I said at the time , I would rather the keeper stay on concede 6 goals , than throw the towel in part way through a game . For me it's an attitude that's unforgivable in any type of team sport - yet I've no problem with his quality as a keeper , he is perfectly capable , maybe the lad needed work from the sports psychologist rather than any physio ... All said, its water under the bridge for me I've no real interest in beating him up about it anymore
