I'm going B&B in Heacham in a couple of weeks and planning on walking Brancaster to Burnham on day 1 and Burnham to Holkham on day 2. Just hoping for good weather.
White Horse in Brancaster Staithe? I love that part of the county but it doesn't love me - bank balance wise. Jolly Sailors is owned by the same people, I think and they brew their own beers. Oystercatcher is glorious

I've seen those polywhatever kebab / burger containers lobbed over the side and drifting out to sea. Why, why would anyone with an ounce of savvy do that??
I think Galton (or whoever runs the chippy) should pay for a rubbish lorry or something to go round and empty some of the rubbish bins more regularly, so that they don't end up looking like they do in your photo - he must be making HUGE profits from his chippy/ice cream/candy floss!!!
I sent a tweet to Kier, who do maintenance, bin emptying etc and also Nth Nfk district council saying there's debris, plastic glasses etc from last week's carnival - but it's all between the barrier fence and the cliff edges. A decent southerly wind and all that ****e will be on the beach!
Just as bad over here mate. They had a beach clean and people bagged everything up and left it neatly by the bins. The driver said that he wasn't allowed to take and stuff from businesses away. If it was left lying around then someone else would have to pick it up first. It wasn't his job. Bloody council are useless.
The trouble is that it makes any resort look so unsightly and if I was a councillor, I'd want to make sure the bins were emptied regularly rather than look so ghastly, as it must give a bad impression to visitors.
The chip inn regularly empties it's own bins and no one ever chucks their chip inn papers in the sea! It's just better and we are just better bread in south Norfolk! Bloomin north Norfolk monkeys! Bah!
Wait until you try Dudley's bakery in Cromer, then you'll understand what 'better bread' is all about Oh, and it would take a Herculean effort to reach the sea...from Long Stratton!
As it happens, I'm off to the Chip Inn tonight. I'll keep an eye out for Nelson Oliviera and George Santayana
