We have an issue there because he is an Everton player. They want Kone so are going to put the price up for McCarthy, let's face it McCarthy is decent but not worth a fortune.

We have some good players to come back from injury too. But we do desperately need another option up front and another option at CB.

 

McCarthy was bought for £15m by Everton and looked to be worth every penny, they'll want that back I'd imagine.

Talksport reporting that we have agreed a £7mill fee for Iborra from Sevilla

New boss David Moyes has lost his opening two Premier League games in charge of the Black Cats and is desperate to add to his squad before the transfer window opens.
Now he is on the verge of bringing in 28-year-old defensive midfielder Iborra, who he knows well from his time in Spain managing Real Sociedad.
Iborra has made 83 appearances for Sevilla, scoring 17 goals, since moving from Levante in 2013.
The Spaniard was linked with a move to West Brom last season and is keen to play in the Premier League.
He came off the bench at the weekend in the LaLiga victory over Espanyol and is a popular figure at the club.
But Sevilla are happy for him to move on and accepted an offer of £7m from Sunderland on Wednesday.
Iborra is now due on Wearside to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to his switch.

Seems to be a defensive midfielder who has played as an attacking midfielder for the last season getting a few goals. 6ft 3 as well.

 

All sounds very promising, good player from the little I know and an absolutely key position.
