Chinese giants Shanghai SIPG have completed the signing of Serbian-born Hungarian forward Nemanja Nikolic to support Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan upfront.
Nikolic, 28, banged in 23 goals in 22 appearances for Polish side Legia Warsaw making SIPG Sven-Goran Ericson to pay $17m for his signature.
The gangling Hungarian is an alternative for Carlos Tevez whom the club failed to sign earlier this week.
With his pace and artistry, Nikolic will offer the needed support to Gyan who remains the team’s arrow head as SIPG seek to wrestle the title from Guangzhou Evergrande.

Sven has an excellent CV and would attract big names to the club and he would get to live in the City of Culture. I hope I'm wrong but just putting it out there.

I can only see it going to MP.. I cant see the Allams bringing in a complete unknown.
the new manager needs to hit the ground running and the only one of the candidate that appears to be doing that is Phelan himself.

Touchwood they don't **** things up before they sell-up and do the right thing giving Phelan the job
 
I can see us parking the bus............. 10 men behind the ball with Abel on his own up top to catch them on the break.

thats true, mind you as long as Phelan remains in charge for the upcoming game against Man U.
I hope when the chinese do actually take over, they dont bring in someone from the C-league - cos he cant speak the language but wants to manage in the EPL.
 
Premier league club favourites for relegation. stand in manager wins 2-3 games, fans of the club call for him to stay on as manager. Not long before they are hammered most weeks, football is **** to watch and same fans are calling for him to be sacked.

How do we know that they will give a **** about what we think. They may like Hull Tigers and want to bring their own choice of manager in regardless of what we want. As I said on the resurrected thread I think when a new owner comes in people just want to hope for the best. Really it's out of our control so that's probably the only thing to do at this point. Give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.


On the latest game it was a big risk by Phelan to play some players, hopefully we haven't got any of the first team injured though Luer and Tymon may have injuries. You could bet we'd pick up some kind of injury in this game, it was likely to be physical.
 
3 from 3 with a depleted squad, all the players pulling in the same direction and fully behind the manager, not a bad nudge to give the new owners.
