This is actually incredible tbh. And it just goes to show how ridiculous the suggestion is that ours is the only planet with intelligent life.
Hence now you might understand, why I don't take the intelligent life of GC seriously, and why I will carry on being a stupid prick - that last bit is for Aldo - btw Aldo you ought to watch the vid, it will show how insignificant you Scots really are
We are not insignificant and to suggest as much is an insult to the human race. So what if there are trillions of galaxies out there with trillions of stars and planets that could support life? What difference does it make when there is no chance of ever knowing for sure? It's always nice to wonder "what if?" as our natural curiosity has been fundamental in our development but it is only ever going to be guess work and yet more "we are not alone" books and films. It is so easy to fall into the realms of science fiction instead of science fact when talking about space and the idea that there are other planets out there is often more to do with our perceptions based on imagination rather than reality. When they do the time-line thing from the moment of the big bang to now it is always done with the intention of making us feel small but I feel the opposite. When you look at what humans have achieved in such a short space of time I can't help but feel superior instead of insignificant. Live long and prosper.
What we have achieved is learning how to create weapons of minor, middling and mass destruction. Instead of using sticks and rocks on our enemies we now use bullets and bombs. I agree that it is not nice at all but you can't deny it is progress. Without developments in weaponry we'd never have flown to the moon. Which did happen by the way.
We score well on technological advancements. We score incredibly poorly on behavioural learning. Our moral compass is so undeveloped, that we have to take our moral bearings from a dictated society. A society that is itself so unadvanced that it teaches us that positive discriminarion is normal, and that blows up most of the middle east because some nerd has devised a theory that it's probably in the best interests of israel, and has told his bosses who are too stupid to do anything other than take that at face value. We're a species of simpletons, who cant analyse anything beyond a headline. We're like doorman, who are so stupid and therefore incapable of determining who should be allowed in, that they have to be told who the bad guys are based on a list of items of clothing. That's us. We're all like that. It's still all we can do.
At least. And that was fine. But now the simpletons think they know it all. If anything we've gone backwards. We've picked out all the simpletons and told them theyre in charge.
Although I agree the majority of GC'ers are both pooves and *****s I wouldn't say our whole species are simpletons. Rather the majority of the population have very basic and simple needs. Water, food & shelter are the basics for a human being but there are millions of us who don't even have that although some GC members are happy to give up even these essentials for a £10 baggie or a pill. On the flip side of this the same human beings have found cures for disease, put rockets and satellites into space and I read somewhere that scientists are on the verge of discovering the exact location of the female g-spot but you can't expect miracles.
