Are you suggesting someone threw themselves on the dole (and not even that given they made themselves intentionally job less) just to make an online joke/protest? You found the name easily enough, why wouldn't our prankster?

Only way this is true is if the guy was quitting anyway and used the story to spice up his resignation letter. Hats off if so!

True or not, the Goon bigwigs have been called on the Wenger comment.

WTF does the payroll for 600 employees have to do with signings when
you are paying the Walnutts + Jacky boy multiples of 14K per WEEK, not year.

I see that avatar and I'm just waiting for the piss-take. It's unsettling to see sensible comments coming from it!

I think the point was not how much they're being paid but that if the club struggles financially, those jobs will be at risk. It's a ridiculous statement though as Arsenal are nowhere near to being in financial trouble and even if they were, foreign investors looking to pour money in a club are queueing up to invest in English football right now and Arsenal would be top of the list for them if they became available.

Apparently there is something called the League Cup second round happening this week. Who knew.

    The point is :

    1. What difference does the wages of the "600" make to the transfer budget
given the state of their player wage bill ??

    2. If the suggestion is that their jobs would be at risk to make the funds
available to buy that elusive special player, then one of the 600 is willing to
fall if it means that instead of bidding 40m + 1, next time Wenger can go
    40m + 14K.

If we use Pixie, Cini65 and afcftw as a point of reference to average out the IQ level of a typical Arsenal fan, I wouldn't be at all surprised. Would also explain the Comic Sans font choice.

I think Wenger would judge their wage bill as necessary to keep players that will get them top 4 each season. Can't really argue with the results as they do finish top 4 every season but they're definitely paying a price for it in terms of having a huge wage bill that puts them up with the biggest teams in the league and Europe without every really being able to compete with those sides in competition.

"Scare quotes, shudder quotes,[1][2] or sneer quotes[3][4][5] are quotation marks placed around a word or phrase to signal that a term is being used in a non-standard, ironic, or otherwise special sense.[6] They may be used to imply that a particular expression is not necessarily how the author would have worded a concept.[7]"

Or maybe they are quotation marks to emphasise the part you are replying to?

I watch all of the PL games shown on Sky (I don't have BT), I "follow" the PL
I watch most of the La Liga games shown on Sky (do I follow that?)
I look most weeks at the Seria A table (do I follow that?)
I occasionally look at the Eredivsie table (do I follow that?)

    Define follow!

Although it's very early in the season, it's good to see Jose giving chances to the Utd youth like he said he would.

Love and McNair were sold to Sunderland while Blackett signed for Reading last night (thought he looked half decent and could have a good future).
Januzaj, Wilson and Jackson have been sent out on loan.
Rashford and Fosu-Mensah haven't featured in the Prem yet, neither has Lingard but he's supposedly injured.

Still, at least he's got the club to spend £89m on a player they released a few years back.

Ibrahimovic is probably entering his second childhood by now, does that count? Rooney's hair is very youthful - although disappearing by the look of it?
