The 1st problem the new boss will have is sorting out the W a n ks..

Wife's and numerous knob-heads...

Regardless of what Alf Ramsey did fifty years ago, if Coleman had players available from better teams he'd select them, he's selecting the best players he can from those available, unless you can name me a load of top four club players that he's overlooked?

There were no players from outside the top flight in Ramsey's World Cup winning team as far as I'm aware.

Sorry, Ray Wilson was at Everton by then. was at Huddersfield when first selected.

The top 4 sides in 1966 were Liverpool, Leeds United, Burnley and Man Utd. He didn't exactly pack his side with players from those. Though admittedly the had many players not eligible. Law, Bremner, Giles, Eddie Gray, Best, Ron Yeats, Willie Irvine of Burnley who was joint top scorer in the league. The number of players in the top flight available for England isn't a new phenomenon. It is just different countries they are from now,
.
The thing is Ramsey had a plan, even though circumstances meant he changed it during the World Cup, and picked players to fit it. Now it seems that whoever is flavour of the month is picked and how they will fit in to any system isn't a major consideration.

Maybe Coleman having a lesser pool of big club players to choose from has been a blessing in a way. A couple of big stars who have lead by example and other players proud to wear the shirt.

You're missing the point, if there were a load of players at Arsenal and Man United who qualified to play for Wales, they'd have picked them.

No you're missing my point, Coleman picked the best players he had available regardless of where they are from, true. We didn't & just picked the usual suspects who play at the usual "top" teams who were not the best players.
Wilshire, Sterling, Henderson even Sturridge to a certain degree because of his lack of game time, the centre back situation which is normally the string point of the England team.

Sturridge has been scoring 2 in 3 for Liverpool (including 8 in 15 in the couple of months running up to this tournament), why the hell wouldn't you take him?

And which centre backs would you have taken instead?

Steve Bruce 50/1.. group stage exit 2018.. "it were one of those horrible nights, Rashford has taken time to acclimatize to the English game, he's been half the way round the world with Man U"

Wonder what Sam has been doing with his right hand to that fella bent over. Does he need a fingernail inspection? Sam that is, not the fella bent over.

Just seen a video of Big Sam saying he'll select Joe Hart even if he's not playing regularly.

Didn't think he'd be one those to be honest... Surely there's enough decent English keepers to pick from. Butland, Forster, Foster, Heaton.. all first choice prem keepers for their respective clubs.

That's a worrying comment.

I was hoping he'd be different, appears not.
