Same here, you going to any of the London games this year?

No mate went on to get tickets 2 hours into general sale and sold out the 2 games i was after.
I was quite surprised never had bother the previous years.
Have to be quicker next time i ll be straight on.

You wouldn't remember a Hull accent as shown by your use of lines like "eh by eck" and calling bread cakes barm cakes.You may have been born in Hull but on leaving school went on to further education in Lancashire and after that moved to the USA. This would have been years ago as you're in your 70's now. If the search function was working i could find your own posts as it is this is from memory and happy to be corrected.

Close, but no medal. My further education was not in Lancs. I have lengthy telephone/Skype conversations every week with my relatives still living in Hull. In fact, I'm about to call my mother right now.
A Hull accent lasts forever and is very hard to disguise -- which I don't. Why should I? It goes over very well here in the US.

I've been very happily married for almost 50 years, so no. But there have been opportunities! My sons, however, became chick magnets, due in part to their (Lancashire) accent. I'm sure most ex-pats over here have heard more than their share of "I just love your accent!" My own standard response is to say, "You're the one with the accent, not me." Usually gets a laugh.
