Though I am 100% opposed to those views, and personally doubt his views have really changed, if society felt it was OK to ignore them then - including when he was the Championship top scorer and Player of the Year - then I'm not sure why he gets them piled on him here now. I think it is society and the media to blame here.

I guess his accusations of racism against himself dug these back out, but still, no one comes off well here, including Burnley FC.

He wasn't high profile though he was playing for Hinckley United at the time.

Home and away he hurt us that season for Bristol City. Think they were the only side to do the double over us.
 
I can't work out if Gooch is really selfish, or knows that he's an awful passer, or just has no football brain at all. But time and time he isn't passing the ball when there's clearly options on out wide.
 
Two sides who'll be in relegation trouble this season, no doubt. Both might have talent in their squad - particularly Boro - but neither can defend. Neither can seem to cope with pressure.

I think if they sign a few players then Sunderland will be fine this year tbh...
