Yeah not sure why we've been linked with Yedlin, though apparently he can play on the left too and wouldn't be bothered about being back up.
Just been thinking about potential incomings, (if they arrive), with the spirit in the squad at the minute it`s going to be a very difficult balancing act getting players in that want to come that will not upset the camaraderie within this band of brothers. We definitely need bodies in the building but they`re going to have to be of a similar mentality not to ruin what we have. Tough job this managing lark !
We need more then those, I would go for out if contract keeper Denayer loan gunter richardson out of contract a centre midfielder (lucas from Liverpool? ) Rodriguez loan nikolic konte we could bring these in for around £10m (£6m if you take off the diame money)
Not sure about Nikolic myself, unless the idea is to change formation and pair him up with Hernandez (which in itself would weaken our midfield). I know he scored a lot in the Polish League, but he was the super slow Hungarian centre forward who played in the Euros I think. Looked good enough holding the ball up, but couldn't chase a through ball to save his life. He also hadn't scored in an age for Hungary (who also play 451) until he bagged in the Euros. Would rather we went for an option with pace and power who could also play either side of Hernandez, assuming we have more than £3m to spend that is. Hernandez looked a lot better yesterday btw; made good runs in behind and held the ball up- hope we don't end up shifting him out wide a la Diomande. On signings, might seem a bit ambitious, but Bentaleb at Spurs isn't looking likely to get a game soon- been banished to the U21s by Pochettino- season long loan deal?
To be honest, Diomande looked horrible against Swansea, and it was no coincidence we looked so much more dangerous when Maloney replaced him. Much more natural on the left. We need some reinforcements. Rodriguez in particular would be brilliant on the left.
I know it was only a YouTube video someone posted of him before but Nikolic was the exact opposite... Most of his goals came from running onto through balls
It's not much of a marker to use the Polish league to tell whether Nikolic will be any good, but I think he will prove to be an astute signing, like a cheaper version of Okazaki for Leicester. He's a finisher too, so I think he will do alright. Plus if we do go back down I think he'll be decent in the Championship. I'd take Pazdan if we are looking at Legia players, I think he could play in the Premier League.
Obviously wrong fella then- seems a bit strange he couldn't make it as 1st choice for Hungary then?..... I think I must be coming down with a case of post-Proschwitz syndrome..a morbid fear of signing strikers I've never heard of. Also, anyone else a bit worried that all this striker talk may be a prelude to us flogging Hernandez?
No, not unless the offer that comes in for him is ridiculous. I think this will be his breakthrough season in the Premier League, with no disruption he could be a real force for us.
Agreed. So what sort of sum do we think might see him gone? He cost us £10m, he's young enough and he's an international. Premier League strickers are madly expensive in today's market and go for much more than they're worth. I'd put £30m on his head. Thank God he doesn't have a release clause.
If somebody offered £20m plus I'd take it, for that money we could get somebody good like Aboubakar or Austin to replace him.
Rick@HullCityLive Adrian Mariappa (free) DeAndre Yedlin (Spurs loan) Jay Rodriguez (Saints loan) Nemanja Nikolic (Legia 3.5m) Moussa Konate (Sion 6m+) Think most of us would be happy with this? Rick's also mentioned again on Twitter today about Phil Jones. Massive 10 days coming up. The lads have been magnificent but they all deserve the assurance that the squad will be built up to be as competitive as possible throughout the season and with numbers to support those already here. It's important though that any signings we do make complement the excellent team spirit we have shown so far this season.
