Yeah..accidental. Another not in my day lol..my uncle (ulster keeper in his day) initiated me by coming out and wiping me 6ft in the air ...he got the free back then too lol
I've always played by the rule, that if you see the keeper charging to the top of the D, you get the **** out the way. Mind you the keeper I learned that from was 6'4'' and about 20+stone.
My Dads knees went, he Umpires now.... just a thought for you. I've got to the stage now that after a game I have to strap my knees up over night to stop them aching, and I've started to have hamstring problems in the last couple of years. Usually goes away once I've got going into the season.
@RogerisontheHunt do you lot go into primary schools for fun days? I tried starting that but our lazy ass bastards wouldn't keep it up because they saw no point and it'd be 4 years before they could realistically play for our under15's....they didn't get that 1 or 2 players would make the difference once the 4 years were up..more if you took them to the summer sixes every year....Shame... Bollox....1-1
We tried with Secondary schools, didn't really stick as nobody had the time (working etc). We're lucky in that we have a few teachers playing and that we're very much a family club (lots of father and sons, sisters, brothers etc). The juniors section of the club has just been revived in the last few years, for a long time it was rather ignored for some reason. So we've got a alot of youngsters coming through and some have started playing Saturdays, but they're obviously in the lowest teams atm, and the others are too young as they put age restrictions on when they can play, Boys have to be 14 and Girls 13. Long time before it'll benefit the top 2 teams, if we don't lose them to the bigger clubs like we have with some others. Although it has massively benefited the ladies 3s.
Btw, that Yellow stick Crista Cullen is playing with cost £400. Didn't feel any different from any other stick when I had a little go with it.
not fully au fait with hockey myself but am i imagining the fact that this team has been tactically aware in their games unlike so many home based teams
