I'll give you the benefit of doubt here HIAG and hope your family are alright I did a similar journey up a couple of weeks ago when I got back at midnight. Soon as I went through customs went straight to Costa, had an espresso there and then and a Latte to go. Still needed the Mrs to keep punching me to check I was awake... she needs any excuse though tbf.
The red eye back from the States is a killer tbf. I once got in my car at Heathrow and felt myself going on the M1 and pulled off at Watford Gap. I thought I'll have 20 minutes kip and plough on. I woke up 4 hours later!
I've not been tbh but I do have a habit of getting late night flights back. Probably because it's the cheaper flights and bcos it means I can get to departures abroad in the afternoon with the family on a go slow. What I don't get is why I can't doze off for more than 30mins on the flight!!
