And from a Palace pont of view they are probably thinking.......they can afford to pay him £120k/week to watch football games for the next couple of years, **** it let them
And? Its like you're bitterly disappointed that we won't let them give us what they want for him. Whether they or you like it we can afford to pay him even if he doesn't play.
There will be plenty of clubs a day or 2 before the window shuts that will need a striker desperately - paying £30m for Benteke will be an easy decision for them in the end. He'll prob end up at Arsenal
Football money doesn't bother me at all, I just feel sorry for the talent wasted by ****s trying to grab it when they don't seem to realise they could just as easily lose it. By the same token I cant stand to see ****s wasting there own talent by sitting in the stands because they want a higher wage to move.
possibly, but it could go the other way entirely. There have been many bargains bought on deadline day because clubs wanted players off there books
Well we ain't in either of your categories, its a simple question of the value(in today's market)that LFC place on a player that has no future at the club. Apparently/reportedly he wants the same(or more)wages that he's now on, perhaps if he was prepared to accept less wages maybe Palace would pave the way for his desired move to Croydon.
Interesting extract from Torres's interview about how his discussions with the club were leaked and portrayed him as a traitor. Mentioned this before - we did the same with Mash and Sterling.
Wages don't seem to be a major sticking point at the moment (not even sure if Palace have had discussions with the player), it's the fact that you want all your money back (two years after making a bad mistake) for a player who has more or less been an observer for the last 12 months.
Because Balotelli as been in this position three or four times in his career before. Plus, NOBODY wants him!
He's under contract, he was purchased by not the current manager, he doesn't fit the current managers team plan and tactics. As his contract owners we can put whatever value we see as fair on the player, as dev said earlier we have been a walkover in recent seasons with buying expensively, selling cheaply and paying towards loaners wages until their contracts run down. As for the wages, the less he's prepared to accept over 4 or 5 years would mean Palace could pay a bigger purchase price. Either way I'm glad LFC are standing their ground.
You lot know that A) rogers only got his way to get benteke cos we paid the 32.5mil knowing there was tv money coming tbe following year. B) hes got a full 4 years on his contract and is 25... like... hes not going down in value here. C) balotelli is totally irrelevant to the discussion. D) if the window shuts with him in red.. theres anotber one in 4 months. E) despite the madness round here ings is no half the player, and sturridge might be out for 4 months.origi and him might be it like.... Desperation will tell in tbe end.... moyes will be very desperate come january... palace look well short of a guy to knock in townsends crosses.... west ham will be wondering.... southampton look short of one or two.
Yep...Balo has one year left...no one with sense would pay anything for him as they can risk taking the head case on a free next year. As you say...Come January if one of these teams need a striker desperately they'll pay...we can even fire him into the league cup so he can buck a few goals in to show he's still got it.
It was £1 deposit +£1 add on of every PL goal he scores (only valid for games in which Palace go on to win) up to a maximum of £30m. Plus we still have to pay Benteke's wages until retirement. And a triple-locked pension of £500,000 per year thereafter. So we turned it down.
