Reports that United have agreed to sign the Brazil forward Gabriel Barbosa for £30m.

Even though we ridiculed United for spending large sums of money and failing to improve instantly, at least they can say that they tried to improve their team and squad. We don't even make proper attempts to reinforce the positions we need to. In hindsight, what right did we even have to mock them when we have people at the club who won't bother to spend money because of no reason other than their own cowardice?

It is week1 FFS. Hardly a mountain to climb. Lose 5 of the next 8 and then there might be an issue.

Surely, you can understand why fans are pissed off. At the start of most seasons recently, we enter them unprepared and not fully fit. This isn't acceptable, but it still happens. All. The. Time.

I can. I only reacted to the "playing catch up" bit. Points difference after one game means nothing. I do understand the frustration though. This should be a golden period for you guys and it is being wasted.

My point is that it seems the points in the beginning of the season is not worth as much as those at the end. But of course they are. We should treat the beginning of the season with the same importance as the end of it. We are on the back foot and already need to catch up. Who says we will win the next game and then we might be 6 pts behind already.

Wenger and his management team blew the opportunity to press home our financial advantage and overall team stability, with their risk averse strategy. This season will be the most difficult and unforgiving for Wenger, their lack of activity in the transfer market and poor preparation will bite them on the backside.

Unfortunately I agree

Arsenal are away at Leicester next.
They got 6 points against Leicester last season, despite Leicester's success.
But it wont be an easy game.

As soon as we became financial stable under the new regime, Wenger should have gone out and got the players he needed to get his footballing system working optimally. He's got so obsessed with the financial implications of the club that the footballing side took second place. It's a shame as we'll never quite know how his team would do without his self imposed financial restrictions.

Would be a weird signing! £30 million on another striker?!
Ibrahimovic
Anthony Martial
Rashford
Rooney
Gabriel Barbosa
(... and I would argue that Depay would be better deployed as a CF.)

Would love us to try and steal Anthony Martial.

Spurs 0-1 Liverpool at half-time.
Milner with the penalty.

Within this incident, I think Spurs can feel a bit hard done by because the contact was outside the box. It was a foul, but not a penalty. That being said, in real time, I thought it was a definite penalty because most of Firmino's body was in the box and he fell inside the box. Obviously, refs don't have the benefit of watching slow-mo replays like we do, so I can't blame Madden too much for that.

On the balance of play, Liverpool deserve to be winning so far. They've created the better chances and hit Spurs on the counter superbly.

I noticed that on the Spurs board they were complaining about Matip obstructing Janssen from getting the ball in the penalty area and thus, they should have had a penalty.
I think they have a case for that. But they also got away with one when Vertoghen pulled down a Liverpool player in the box from a corner (can't remember who it was), so to complain about big decisions going against them but never for them is laughable.

He isn't even remotely that.

Ferguson all day long. He won the league with sides that were shocking.
Because Fergie had even more shocking Managers to manage against in his days.
Only decent manager was Arsene for majority of Fergie's reign with all that money. That says a lot.
And when Fergie eventually got another decent manager in Jose - he lost 2 off 3 seasons.
