Probably the best goal, I agree. Although he team goal involving 19 passes was very impressive. Clean as a whistle, even off his shin. He must have meant it
PIssed me off the comms going on about oh but it's off his shin though ... did you see the feckin speed clyne pinged it at him, fact he got contact on it nevermind scored was pretty impressive, lets completely overlook his amazing instincts and reaction speed and concentrate that it partially came of his shin, cos you can't use your whole leg in football can you
We didn't really learn much today... same problems and same strengths as last season in evidence. Moreno is ****ing atrocious and needs binned asap. Hopefully Karius and Matip provide some assurance at the back... Wijnaldum had a good game but our midfield was non-existent first half. Can't do that against the top sides. We were very open. Mane was very positive on the ball... superb goal. Can we expect 15 from him this season?
Agree on most of this ... Wijnaldum though - didn't really notice him, or Henderson ... Can was effective and I think Stewart helped out when he came on late. Have to wait and see with Mane, he's great right now but what will we be saying in December ?
Going to be unpopular here but a bit pissed off at all the reviews giving any player 9..(Coutinho and Mane)... can't be anonymous for half a match and get 9...no matter what...
Don't think Mane was anonymous for rest of the game? Every time he got the ball he ran at the defence and caused trouble from 1st minute to last. Cout was anonymous in 1st half but then so was rest of the team t be fair.
Consider yourself unpopular Who pays attention or even reads those reviews? Watch it and make your own mind up Still love you though DFrank even if you're unpopular btw , in fact more so
Just don't like to cover up absenteeism with a couple of flashes of genius...too many games we don't get those two .... Might take you to dinner J....maybe even breakfast...
What a result. I was at a wedding today so missed the game but it sounds spectacular. Saw Coutinho's free kick and Mane's goal - match winners! Saw Arsenals first goal - I know Moreno was out of position but he was trying to support the attack just before Lallana lost the ball. Bit harsh IMO but then I I heard he did some other stupid ****. Need to watch the game back - but at the his stage of the season, it's about results. We will get better and our attack looks brilliant - defence and midfield still a worry.
Now as you know i really don't rate Moreno but for the goal imo primary responsibility lies with Lallana but Moreno was truly dreadful PS congrats to the happy couple
Moreno shouldn't commit forward until it's safe to do so. However, Klopp may have asked him to bomb on regardless. My gripe with Moreno in this game is the two crazy tackles; two footed on Ramsey and then the penalty.
Lallana definitely lost the ball in dangerous position and put us under pressure. Moreno's positioning pretty much sums him up. He's always thinking attack first, defend as an afterthought. You see in that move, the ball is centre right in midfield and Moreno is already in a LM position, Clyne who is closer to support is in a more defensive position though because his first thought is defend first, attack 2nd. It's where Clyne will always be the superior defender and where Moreno will constantly find issues with positioning because his first thought will always be 10 yards ahead of where he should be. They were both equally at fault for the goal but the problem is, Moreno almost did exact same thing a matter of minutes afterwards where he went chasing a guy infield and left a huge gap out wide which Arsenal nearly exploited again. If people make mistakes fair enough, no one is perfect, but not learning from those mistakes is where everyone gets frustrated with him mainly.
Yeah - in that one moment, I have a bit of sympathy because Klopp does expect a lot from his full backs so I expect Moreno to bomb forward. But there are other occasions where he's just brainless. He and Lovren need replacing, and Can needs a partner.
Lovren was solid today I thought. Him & Klavan were a solid enough partnership and didn't really put a foot wrong I didn't think. Only gripe with Lovren was Arsenal's 2nd, he was in a decent position but half heartedly stuck a leg out, hands behind his back and half turned... if he's stood still and been willing to take one full on he'd have seen the ball go near his foot and could have got a decent foot to it. Other than that, he did well.
this is the worry for me as he has continually done it yet either Klopp lets him or Moreno can't help himself in his rush to get forward. personally i think he is encouraged to get forward as quickly possible , whenever sensible ,however he struggles to comprehend the bit in bold
