Lallana was also Captain and had been here as a junior...he got his head turned as well. Will always be grateful to Jose for the past, but, IF he leaves, I will be seriously disappointed in him. I understand the reasoning, but that doesn't help deal with a feeling of being badly let down.
Fonte going? Wow. Every year we seem to lose someone where it's like "Him? I thought he was different to the others." and it seems like it's Fonte this summer. Mind you I wanted us to buy a new first choice CB this summer to replace him so it's not the end of the world. Might be a bit premature but I'd be tempted to make Hojbjerg captain.

Age doesn't matter that much. Tony Adams became captain of Arsenal about the same age. I definitely think Steve Davis or VvD are more likely to actually get the job but Hojbjerg seems to have something about him so I'd be tempted .
Hojbjerg or VVD won't be here that long, rather give it to someone who most likely will be here for 3-4 years, although Davis is also a good shout.
Errr.....Didn't the same thing happen with our last Captain? A certain Mr Lallana, touching the badge and all that. Then the first chance of fame.........off they jolly well go? Will be very surprised if Jose goes I really will............
