If Fonte was to go I would be happy with Rugani as a replacement.
Seeing as Fonte is the captain of the team he isn't conducting himself very well through social media. All of these cryptic posts, or non posts in recent weeks. If he is doing it to engineer himself a move away I'll lose all my respect for him.
Why though? This is modern football, if a player wants to leave then they have to use all these sorts of "tricks" to get the move, it won't upset the other players as they know what is going on and possibly one day have to do something similar themselves.
This was posted by someone who SW seem to think is ITK ...
"As far as I am aware , I can say there WAS interest from Manchester United, but nothing whatsoever from Everton,
which I did say last week.
If there were Manchester United "staff" (in any capacity) at the game with Watford yesterday, I'd be inclined to say that
was more to do with Fridays game more than anything specifically Jose Fonte related.
But, based on what I know about the situation, which is limited, as nobody is really saying anything... I wouldn't say it was entirely impossible.
That being said, the entire thing could just be a game from Mourinho.
From what I understand the situation with Fonte is described as "difficult", but I'm led to believe that is nothing to do with any transfer
speculation as such but more to do with first team squad setup, without getting into any details.
I can't say any more than that.
The club want Jose to stay and so do the fans and from a personal viewpoint I think Jose does aswell."
Did people lose all respect for Morgan when he went on his twitter rant when we told him he couldn't go to Spurs? Or is that different because he was forced into staying?
Because it's not the way to do things? Keep your mouth shut, and don't add to the speculation that is already there. Not hard to do.
I did. When people say they want him back at the club, I don't.
Fair enough, I think we will just have to agree to disagree. It is modern football, people say regularly "it is all about the way you leave a club" hence why players like Shaw and Lambert generally get positive feedback but Lallana, Lovren etc don't. If we had turned down the offers for Shaw and Lambert and they wanted to go they most likely would've used the exact same kind of tactics Lallana and Lovren did to force the move through. It is basically how quickly the club bidding for our players gets to an acceptable offer that decides whether or not a player has to attempt to take things into their own hands to force the move.
